ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

July 2, 1985

Rachel's California hypnotist arrived.

Catlin arrived at Larry and Clarice's to find Clarice in a dither. She has to get to work and the baby-sitter's not there yet and the car's in the shop. He just kept asking what had happened to Larry and she kept attending to Cory and not answering.

Tommy Lee wants to see Larry before he goes to Chicago.

Victoria fled. Marley inspected the comb. Bridget went to talk to Victoria. Nancy: How come Victoria had that comb? Donna: It's the one. I remember when Larry Ewing brought it here. Marley: Well. They come in pairs, Donna. Nancy: How do you know that, Marley? Marley: Why, they always do -- or almost always. Donna: Do you mean this isn't the one they found? Marley: No, of course not. I -- I mean it's one just like it. She bought one. It was a partner. Nancy: It just seems too coincidental, Marley. Marley: No, it's just one of those weird twin things, y'know? She probably went out and bought one just like mine. One that was -- a partner. She wasn't even in town when ... Perry ... Donna: No, she wasn't, was she?

Bridget told Victoria she'd been stupid. Vic said she'd panicked and took fits over being found out. Bridget's got a plan.

Tommy Lee is obsequious to the Man in Chicago. He expects Adrienne to defer to him. He's annoyed at having to get violent with Larry when Adrienne could've seduced him into submission.

Clarice was evasive but Catlin managed to worm out of her that she'd thrown Larry out because of his girlfriend. He told her not to give up and Larry was an idiot. Clarice was pessimistic. Catlin was comforting. Clarice was going to be late so Catlin said he'd give her a ride and convinced her to let Cory look after Jeanne until Mrs Hall baby-sitter got there. Cory was thrilled.

Bridget told Donna Victoria was embarrassed because she'd taken the comb from Marley. Donna went to talk to her concerned because Victoria is family and should not be afraid to face them. Nancy's suspicious.

Dr Highsmith is giving Rachel a physical examination before hypnosis. He's to give her another after to see if there's been any change. The others (Ada, Jamie, Mac) are to stand about in case she speaks to them. So under we go. "Punkin ... that's what we called Jamie. Because of all that red hair and the freckles. He's a good boy." She remembered a picnic in the woods during which Jamie was lost for a bit. She remembered loving Mac. She had fears of losing him. She was silent when they asked about Carl Hutchins but she thought about the kidnapping and calling Carl a maniac and Nancy. She told them she couldn't remember. She remembered Derek Murphy had taken her to the senior prom. And a little village in Spain Mac had taken her to. She says "Carl who" though. She remembered building a tree fort in Ada's back yard for Joey Perrini.

Donna told Victoria they weren't angry with her and it was nobody's fault. "It's very natural for sisters to borrow things. Nicole spent half her life in my closet, it drove me insane." Donna assured her they'd try to make her feel more at home. Vic said they couldn't love her they didn't know her. Donna said she wanted to. She said families could forgive anything.

Catlin removed his shirt and drank a good deal out of a pitcher and looked like to chop wood. Brittany appeared and said she was back. He said that was real good. She told him about Dry Creek. He spoke little. She told him he was right and she would give him the divorce. There was a long pause and he thanked her. She said it had to be. He said it was the best thing. The only thing. She said she'd see a lawyer this afternoon. She felt his face and said she just wanted him to be happy. She told him that the hardest thing was that she still felt strongly about him and she wasn't the sort that could be just good friends. He said they were friends. She said they used to be. They decided they would be. He told her Sally was a very smart woman and he thought she understood a lot more than Britt knew. He said they might like each other. Britt said anybody who could raise a kid like Kevin she'd have to like eventually. She said she was staying in Bay City. She asked about Willa. He told her to drop it. She laughed and said it sure was good to be back and she'd be seeing him around and left.

Vic apologized to Marley. Marley was too forgiving. She was writing in her journal. Vic said they weren't alike. Marley said she envied her. She told her she wasn't sure about Jake. He seems preoccupied. Victoria said she was going out. Marley offered to accompany her but she said she wanted to be alone. "Just like Garbo, huh?" said Marley. Victoria said she was strange for still being nice when told she wasn't wanted.

Jimmy and Polo came to the Ewing door looking for Larry. Cory pretended Clarice was there and didn't open the door. He left a chair in front of it. Clarice phoned. They left. He told her Mrs Hall wasn't there. Clarice said she was coming right home. Maisie gave her the okay.

Vic told Jake how oppressively nice the Loves were. She misses him. "Why, because I'm not nice?" She said he knew her and she didn't have to pretend. Enter Nancy who looked at them funny.

Rachel's reached an impasse. They're bringing her out. She remembered nothing. Caused by horrible fear suppressing experiences. Fear of Carl or something else. Further hypnosis is not the answer. Perhaps another trauma is. BUT RACHEL IS FEARLESS says the family.

Jake asked Nancy to join them. Victoria said she had to go. Nancy wouldn't let Jake buy her anything. She said the business with the comb was weird. He said he had to go to KBAY and fled. Maisie came to cheer her up and told her to let her grief run its course.

Catlin found Larry's briefcase under the woodpile.

Mac told Rachel they'd see what could be done.

Catlin opened the bag and said "No. Not Larry. Not my brother."

Cory set about making Jeanne soup on the gas stove. He's getting the matches now. "You're kooky," she said.
