ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 1, 1987

Cass has a morning head. Wally and Felicia worked on him about the cheque. Felicia got an idea. (Your apprehensions confuse me dear puzzle and mystify.)

Amanda got a big kick out of introducing herself to everyone she knew as Mandy Ashton. Mac advised her not to make a habit of being late, and that Paris frocks, however becoming, were not appropriate office wear. He gave her something to copy and collate and distribute.

Victoria brooded. Donna burst in in a very good mood. Victoria tried to conceal the photographs from her mother's prying eyes. She said they were of Marley and diverted the discussion to a favourite twin argument. Donna was puzzled. She wants to resolve their problems. Victoria became cryptic. Donna asked if she had a problem with John. Victoria asked if she had.

Peggy feels neglected. She wants Peter to elevate her beyond DA. She doesn't appreciate it when he doesn't call. Peter told her that his father needed him to 'intercede in family matters' and stroke his ego. He requested her patience. She lay down and died for him, since it's for That Old Carrot.

Felicia suggested they be a charity. Cass said they had to pick a very Kathleen cause, or several. Cass has to research it.

Amanda felt that Mac was trying to give her more work than he would expect a normal person to do, to scare her. Twenty-six pages by 300 is beyond her. (For the record, she was TWO HOURS late because she took the bus rather than ride in the Cory limo. What an idiot. And also for the record, I spent a day in the basement of Women's College Hospital photocopying things for Maternity once. Amanda is more sheltered than I thought.) Mac told her he was treating her like everyone else. She saw reason. Rachel arrived. Mac introduced her to Mandy. Mandy went to the photocopy room. Rachel was dubious. Mac hopes that tedium will have the desired effect. (Photocopying requires no special skills. Just so you know.) Mac got a call saying that Sam had run amok. He was displeased.

Sam has drastically altered the layout already. Mitch found out Mac hadn't seen it. Sam was oblivious to any danger. Mitch left as Mac came in. He berated Sam for exceeding authority. Sam was bewildered. Mac told him the way to submit a suggestion was not to publish first and then show it to the publisher the next day. He told him he was fired if he did it again.

Cass tried to dig in his heels, but became fired with a tiny enthusiasm. He went to take Mac's calls.

Victoria told Donna she'd seen her arguing with John last night. She agreed to have lunch with her.

Peter met with his father to report on progress. That Old Carrot bemoaned the necessity of upsetting Victoria and said he hated Michael for what he was doing to his family. Victoria and Donna arrived. Peter and That Old Carrot suggested they join them. The ladies politely declined. The gentlemen thought Victoria was unusually subdued, and wondered if she could have seen the latest most incriminating photo of all. It was planted in her purse.

Mac is annoyed. He figures he's going to have to refund the advertisers' format to make up for the surprise. Julie Ann sent him to meet with Cass. Julie Ann seemed to be acting funny. (Did she see Sam?) Rachel asked Sam about the stunt he'd pulled.

Victoria changed her mind about lunch. Donna asked why she was behaving oddly. Victoria dipped into her purse to pay the bill and found the photo. That Old Carrot looked on in glee. Victoria did not tell Donna what she'd found. She felt sick and asked Peter to take her home. Donna was perplexed. She accused Reginald of being responsible.

Sam said he'd thought Mac had wanted him to revamp the magazine last night. Rachel told him to go by the book next time.

Mac offered Cass a special project -- Kathleen's book. Cass said there was no manuscript. It must have perished in the crash. Mac suggested that there might be a duplicate somewhere. He said he'd look through his correspondence. Cass was surprised to hear Kathleen had written him.

Amanda asked someone to calculate 26 x 300. She still has to collate. Julie Ann offered to help. She's eager to watch her deliver to layout.

Donna told That Old Carrot that she and Michael were planning another baby. He warned her lest history repeat itself and left. Donna complained to Felicia that John wouldn't leave her alone. Felicia advised her to ignore John completely. Don't converse. Leave the room when he enters it. Felicia went to sit with Mitch. He told her what Sam done. Felicia was incredulous. Sam is evidently a hot-headed idiot. Felicia intends to throw parties to help Cass with the fund. She likes having Mitch concerned about her.

Cass asked to see the correspondence. Mac sent Julie Ann to pull the file. Exit Cass. Enter Rachel. Mac admitted he liked Sam's layout, but there must be a chain of command. He expects Amanda will get fed up very soon.

Julie Ann convinced a tired Amanda that it would be worth her while to deliver the report to layout in person.

Donna asked Victoria what her problem was. Victoria decided to produce the evidence.
