Only 17 when she played the double-role of identical cousins Patty and Cathy Lane, Patty Duke was the youngest performer in TV history to have a prime-time series named after herself. When CBS-TV offered to bring her radio show "My Favorite Husband" to television, Lucille Ball insisted that her real-life husband, Desi-Arnaz (a Cuban band-leader who had never acted), play her husband on the show. The networks and advertisers were against the idea, so Lucy and Desi put together an act themselves and took it on the road. It was successful and CBS agreed to okay air-time, but they wouldn't underwrite the show's production costs. Fortunately the Armaz's believed in their show so strongly they started their own company, Desi-Lu Productions, to film "I Love Lucy."

Dennis the Menace was show about a very young boy named Dennis Mitchell who always tried to be helpful but who, with the help of his dog Ruff, usually managed to wreak havoc and comic disaster. Leave It to Beaver was a comedy situation series about the Cleaver family. And who could ever forget young 7-year-old Theodore Cleaver (Beaver) who was always getting himself into trouble, much to the bewilderment and chastisement of his older brother, Wally. McHale's Navy aired on October 1962 and last aired in August 1966 and was produced by the ABC television network. In this military comedy Ernest Borgnine played Lieutenant Commander Quinton McHale, skipper of the PT-73 and commander of a squadron of good-natured ne'er-do-wells who were always causing trouble for their busy-body superior Captain Binghamtom, played by Joe Flynn. In a vain attempt to whip them into shape, 'Old Leadbottom' Binghamton assigned Ensign Chuck Parker (Tim Conway), a bumbling yes-man, to the unruly group.
