What's New 06/26/98
Microsoft finally releases Windows 98, and our software is ready and compliant
Our main software packages ATAINF, SPINDOWN, CDDA and CDDA32 have been
tested extensively with the beta releases and the final release of Windows98.
All of the programs work very well. The following is a list of tips to
help you get the most out of our software and the new operating system.
ATAINF
If you are using a SCSI drive then there is nothing new you need to do
to run ATAINF. If you are using an ATAPI drive, then you are best to try
to use the old option /95ATAPI regardless of whether you are using Win95
or Win98.
SPINDOWN
If you are using a SCSI drive then there is nothing new you need to do
to run SPINDOWN. If you are using an ATAPI drive, then you are best to
try to use the old option /95ATAPI regardless of whether you are using
Win95 or Win98.
CDDA
If you are using a SCSI drive then there is nothing new you need to do
to run CDDA. If you are using an ATAPI drive, then you are best to try
to use the old option /95ATAPI regardless of whether you are using Win95
or Win98.
CDDA32
Under Windows 98, CDDA32 will run without any new command line options.
You still need to make sure which DLL file you rename to MSCDEX32.DLL.
Under Win98 you use the same one as you would use for Win95. You will need
to rename the MSCDEX95.DLL for both Win95 and Win98. The MSCDEXNT.DLL file
continues to be used for Windows NT 4.0 only.
