A lesson to us all: don't leave Christmas shopping until the last minute because you never know when you'll be confined by an illness!

Just for you dear

Christmas comes around once more
Every year's the same.
I pace the big store's floor,
Persistent, that's my name.

You see I only have on my mind
One thought, and that is you,
What can I buy? What can I find?
An idea that is new?

Every year it seems to be
Pyjamas. I have bought,
In Canada and the Old Country,
Pyjamas of every sort.

The special gift that was for you dear,
Due to a minor crisis,
Will have to be postponed I fear,
Damn that tonsilitis!

Now that I cannot go out
And finish my shopping,
There'll be an empty space no doubt
In your Christmas stocking.

Never-the-less, my dearest,
As a wife, you're a treasure,
I wish you all the best,
Thanks for years of pleasure.

Christmas comes around once more,
Further words fail me,
A Very Merry Christmas, from your
Ever loving Hubby.
