Monday June 9
Kendal Y.H.
This should be the last segment of this lett & if I can find some large envelopes, I'll mail it tomorrow.
Started off this morning up Coniston then straight on to Grasmere. Found a lovely waterfall on the way there at Shelwith Bridge. In Grasmere I bought and mailed a postcard to Jackmans & bought some delicious gingerbread. Coming back down southwards, I passed Rydal Water & Ambleside then stopped for lunch (after a short side trip) at a pub called The Drunk Duck. I had roast duck & chips & ordered a Brandy Alexander, for Lynn's sake, but they'd never heard of it. This afternoon I crossed Windemere by ferry & left the Lake District rather sadly & headed here. The weather was even better today with not a cloud in the sky & less hazy too.
Phoned Hilda & Russell tonight & I'll probably be at Auntie Hilda's on the 11th.
Lots o' love,
Rich
