Huddersfield

Continuing from the last time I wrote this saga: I did go to see Chatsworth last Sunday, but since it was bank holiday weekend, the place was packed. There was a queue half way up the hill outside & it continued like a snake all the way through the house. Anyway, I could see that it was a fabulous place. Before I went in, I had to wait for about an hour before it opened at 1:30 so I took out my sketch pad for the first time & drew the outside - with my ballpoint pen! I had forgotten to bring a pencil.)

The I cycled on up to Sheffield & using a very detailed set of instructions from Uncle Tony (I phoned them the night before) I found the house with no trouble.

The next day, Monday, we went sailing on the reservoir at the yacht club. I went out for a couple of quick spins around the reservoir, but for most of the afternoon, Mike & Tony were racing. We came back along a very round about route & saw some of the Peak District. Very beautiful but the hills looked formidable from a cyclist's point of view.
