Backcountry Mountaineering Camp - 2022

Kat and I finally got a trip out west in after the pandemic disaster of the last two years. We flew out to Regina
to visit some family and then spent a few days in Canmore to acclimatize, after which we commenced our primary trip
objective, week four of the BMC
put on by Galena Mountain Guides. Thanks to an extra deep snow pack,
camp was set about 300 meters lower than the original plan, which gave us a wonderful
view of the Austerity icefall from the dining tent, but meant we had an extra hour of hiking in the morning to get
onto the routes... and
then another hour descending back to camp in the afternoon, which made for some long days. Neverthless I managed to
climb five distinct summits over the week long camp.
