St. John the Evangelist Church at Enniskerry, Ontario
A Pioneer Church in Osgoode Township, Ontario, Canada
2540 Stagecoach Road
July 29, 2012:
Here is the cornerstone for the new stone church, completed in 1918. The church was built by the parishioners,
with supervision by the Oblate Fathers. The stone for the church was quarried on the Christopher farm,
lot 4, Concession 4. This parish was mainly Roman Catholic and Irish as can be seen by the celtic cross which
is represented in the cornerstone.
My grandparents and Uncle Frank Burns are buried here.
An infant daughter, named Theresa, died in 1915, aged 16 hours.

Mr. Michael Daley has written a book about St. John's (Stage Coach Road) and St. Brigid's (River Road).
It is called 150th Anniversary, 1854-2004, An Historical Sketch.
This is a very complete history of the two parishes.
