Here is the cornerstone for the new stone church, completed in 1918. The church was built by the parishioners, with supervision by the Oblate Fathers. The stone for the church was quarried on the Christopher farm, lot 4, Concession 4. This parish was mainly Roman Catholic and Irish as can be seen by the celtic cross which is represented in the cornerstone.
