Welcome
David Sampson is
currently employed with the Government of Canada, in the Department of
natural Resources. He currently holds the position of CGDI
Technologist. The Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) is
Canada's network of geospatial data product offerings avaialble online.
Dave is currently working with in the Earth Sciences Sector, Mapping
Information Branch, Data Dissemination Division as part of the
Geospatial applications team.
He is interested in the fields of geomatics, Open Data initiatives, interoperability, project management, Science and Policy integration, bridging the digital divide, community based technology solutions and other innovative opportunities that help to solve real world issues. Outside of work Dave is
involved with the Free and Open Source for Geomatics (FOSS4G) community
as well as grass roots community technology initiatives such as Computers for Communities
where he is currently the Executive Director. Through this involvement
Dave continues to build his social and professional networks in the
technology industry as well as the non-profit community.
