The Silent Minute has joined forces with The Seed of Life Foundation and Brahma Kumaris in a co-ordinated effort to join minds around the planet in a prayer of agreement for world peace. I am the Canadian outreach representative for The Silent Minute. By March 1998 already over a million people had committed to observe a minute’s silent prayer at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday 15th August 1998. This is a celebration of the coming together with Christ consciousness (East meets West, as one family).

Months of networking have resulted in the formation of many Starseed groups around the world. Men, women and children are invited to unite at home or in their own small groups to focus their prayers and meditation towards the healing of Earth. The minute of silent prayer on the 15th will synchronize the efforts of so many in such a focussed moment of time that the vision of world peace will dawn in the hearts of human beings - in every country around the world. Please take an active role by sending copies of this Page to your friends. And be sure to read the moving true story that gave rise to The Silent Minute in 1917 and its influence on the course of World War II.

Every day, as the vision grows, more and more people are committing to focus for world peace on 15th August in what will be the largest ever mass prayer in history. The Bible teaches us that the prayers of people together in concert, known as prayers of agreement, can have a powerful effect on history. God seems not to postpone dealing with prayers of agreement.

The Minute for Peace will be at 2:00 p.m. GMT, or 10:00 a.m. EST. For residents of the Ottawa Region, there will be a short service around the Minute, starting 9:45 a.m. on Saturday August 15th, at Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbeyhill Drive, Glen Cairn, Kanata. All are welcome.
