July 1984, exact date unknown

[This is from a flashback to a scene when Catlin was in prison and decided that he had to convince Sally that he didn't love her so that she could forget him and move on with her life. So the original scene was probably in July, possibly the last time Catlin saw Sally before he was to be transferred to another prison. I am not sure whether the flashback was just Sally thinking about this incident soon after it happened or if it was later, in September, when Herb Harris was hypnotising her and telling her to be afraid of Catlin.]

Catlin: I don't love you. I never loved you. I was only in it for the MONEY.

Sally: but that night we spent together in the cabin, just holding hands —

Catlin: why do you think I never made love to you? I could have any woman I want — and I usually do.

Sally: No. I don't believe you.

Catlin: I don't love you. You're a fool. I hate you and I hate Kevin.

Sally: no.
