ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 26, 1986

Cass is in California but he won't see Kathleen.

Peter and Britt had breakfast at Smiley's together. Dear sweet Brittany I want you to have this.

Mac and Neal had a chat with the insurance guy. Neal knew too much about the treasure for Ada's comfort. He knew a bunch about a lion that never went on display. He said he'd pored over the inventory list and talked to Rachel a lot. They spoke of Hardy Boys [is he a Frank or a Joe, I wonder? He isn't as like as Nancy is Trixie]. Until he said tempus fugit and left under a cloud of suspicion as Rachel came in. Ada interrogated her about Neal's knowledge of the lion. Rachel likes him. Ada disapproves of him. Nancy adores him and Ada thinks he's too smooth. She doesn't trust him.

Peter told Britt she was always on his mind and gave her a box. She sounded quite overcome and rather faint when it proved to contain a pin [heirloom] and not a ring. She expressed doubt that she was immer in seinen Gedanken [oh where is Willie Nelson when we need him? He was all over her lone depraved droolings over Catlin]. He assured her that the Springtime would prove he loved her. She doesn't want to wait. He of the Mercy reasoning [Mercy of Mercy-and-Dirk-I-mean-Croft] said it hadn't been so long ago that she loved Catlin. She insisted she was sure. He said he'd be busy this weekend. She said [nastily, I thought] "oh, that's OK, you just do your job I'll just wear your pin and I'll think of you." He said she was truly wonderful [dope]. She simpered. He left. Zane approached and said by his calculations the conception of this child had coincided with the breakup of Sally and Catlin's marriage [well I'll be]. He asked if the two events were related. [Zane doesn't seem to be nearly as unfond of Catlin as he was wont to be. Perhaps Felicia has mellowed him. Although unambushing, she is fond of just about everyone except Donna and the DA.] She hedged. He said 'twas Catlin's child.

Cass accused Edouard of having lured Kathleen and him out there. Edouard said he needed him to cure her of her despondency. Cass said she'd dig in her heels if they did this in a normal straightforward way. He gots to plot. Edouard warned him of delaying until it was too late. Cass said he was going for a walk in the park. Edouard returned to Kathleen who informed him she was through with exercising and bored with the screenplay. She asked to be taken to the park. She couldn't be tempted with otherwheres.

Zane told Britt she could have the child alone and not marry Peter. She said Peter's baby would have every advantage. He said it should have its real father. She flounced out.

Katlyn met Larry in Smiley's. Larry's going to check out the force. Catlin gets to keep the agency. Neal doesn't thrill him.

Britt ran into Michael who told her Donna was coming home soon. She asked him to take over the stables for a few days while she was gone. Tell Bridget she has to do this for herself. See a doctor.

Ada said something indistinct to Mac, winding up with "but I'm from Missouri. You'll have to show me." exit Ada. Enter Neal [I think he'd overheard]. He said he thought he'd be a detective when he grew up. Mac asked how he spent his time. Neal said he was investigating. He said he'd made an offer for a local marina. Mac approved. Neal hinted at a need for backing and dashed. Enter Rachel. A call came which showed Neal was a fibber.

Kathleen wanted to stop for a puppet show but Edouard saw Cass hanging about and tried to dissuade her. Miriam recognized what's-his-name from the beach. Edouard informed her she was mistaken and she hastily agreed. The show began. Cass won over one of the puppeteers through sheer charm and the other with money. He got to stand backstage. The puppet Mickey set out to make his fortune. He ran into a wicked fox.

Michael moved furniture for Bridget. She praised Peter as a pillar of strength. She said the help had as much right to love and marriage as the Loves. He passed on Britt's medical message. Bridget got flustered and rushed out.

Neal never offered for the marina. [Neal overheard the ensuing discussion.] Rachel chided Mac for having intimidated his worshipping nephew. Mac thinks he's a compulsive liar. A SOCIOPATH.

Clarice advised Catlin not to give up on Sally. He's getting impatient and leans more towards Sobbin' Women theories of making marriages. Without an Adam to egg him on of course he's hopelessly lost. He realizes Sally will not react well to being carried off but he doesn't know what to say. Clarice preached patience. Larry returned. He is wholly reinstated down to the MJ.

The fox refused to pay Mickey for services rendered. He beat him. Kathleen urged Mickey not to give up. The play ended with Mickey broken. The wicked puppeteer quit. The nice one was distraught.

Bridget cornered Britt and tried to reason with her. Britt made very certain that she upset her so much that she'd tell Peter. She had terrible fits and stormy weepings and begged for Bridget's handholding Afterwards.

Mac asked Catlin to keep Neal on the periphery of the investigation subtly. Catlin was confused and said so but Mac refused to explain why. Neal rushed in and said he'd followed Fayez to the treasure and that they had to follow now.

Bridget decided Peter had to know. Britt was relieved.

Edouard has got to go. Cass has an idea if Miriam will bring Kathleen to the park every day. His cradling Mickey.

Catlin called MJ. Neal raved and said he'd been shot at. They left with Neal in the rear looking peculiar and not like a sweet innocent terrified chancer-upon a treasure.
