Cheryl started off the day in a good mood. Vince noticed she was heavily made-up. Mary noticed she and Scott weren't speaking.
Felicia prepared for her breakfast show. Crystal's on for the second bit with a phone-in.
Adam had a bad dream. MJ woke him up. He was confused. She was concerned. She said he had tried to strangle her. He was upset with himself. He had been dreaming about the killer. She told him he couldn't work himself to death. He was very nasty to her when he found out what time it was, since he has to make Felicia's show.
The killer listened to Lonely Girl. Mother scolded him for letting such a wicked woman get away. No more "Good Boy" candy bars for him.
Mary worried about Scott and Cheryl. Vince is starting to remind me of Burt Campbell. Mary said she bowled better than Crystal Gayle even if she didn't sing as well. She told Vince she'd had a good time.
Adam was about as neurotic as I used to be when I didn't wake up until 6:00 AM. MJ assured him he had plenty of time. He said grumpily they had better not try to put any makeup on him. She said she thought he'd look lovely. He calmed down and apologized. He'd been upset because he'd nearly killed her. He said he was going to go on Felicia's show and be sane and reasonable. She was afraid he was getting too personal. He said he thought he should meet the killer one-on-one.
Wallingford wandered around in a black beret. Dr Glaser arrived. Wally is the producer of the show. They wondered where Adam was. Jamie arrived and they attacked him about it. He asked if he could borrow Lisa. Felicia gave permission. Lisa gave in very easily. He was surprised. He has an Old Friend
Mary said Scott and Cheryl were acting foolishly. Chad dropped by and whispered with Cheryl about the Bay City Beauties. She said the photographer had taken pictures of her alone. They paid her $500. Chad refused commission. Mary tried to convince Scott and Cheryl to be civil to each other at least. They brought up Chad and Trish, not speaking to each other.
Wallingford was tearing his hair out because Adam wasn't there. He declared he'd have a nervous breakdown. Dr Glaser said he hadn't the personality for it. Wally scuttled off, mollified. Adam arrived. Wallingford said he'd screened calls for Crystal already.
MJ wandered into Mary's Place and made them get out the television. She told her parents she was worried about Adam. They reassured her in vain.
Felicia began her show. Dr Glaser has written psychological books and given psychological lectures in Chicago. He has a typical killer profile. Deep-seated longstanding anger. Grudges. Could have been abused. Adam took exception to seeing the killer as a victim. He refused to say what the police were doing because it might help the killer. He spoke of psychological mumbo-jumbo. [For shame, Sgt Cory. And you with such a psychological fiancé, too.] Felicia grasped at a commercial break. Adam shouldn't be allowed on television if he's going to freak out like this.
MJ did not like what Adam was doing.
Adam addressed the killer.
MJ liked what Adam was doing even less.
Adam told the killer he would catch him. It was very personal.
MJ cringed. She told her parents the department would not be happy. Chad slithered up and told MJ her boyfriend was losing it. He said the killer might go after her, especially since it was no secret that she slept over at Adam's all the time. She told him to stay out of her personal life. He said he worried about her. She told him to worry about himself. He suggested they work on Linda's code together. She informed him that she had broken the code and removed her own name but left his in. He told her she was bluffing. She told him to stay out of Cheryl's life.
Felicia introduced Crystal. A caller phoned and asked about her next album. Crystal said she had one with wonderful Gary Morris coming out in June. The next caller was the killer. He reminded her she'd sung a sinful song for him last night. He gave an address where Adam could meet him. Then he rang off. Viewers were instructed to steer clear of the address. Adam made arrangements.
Lisa said Adam had better be careful. Not a feeling, common sense. Manuel appeared. He's in hospital for bronchitis. Jamie arranged a room for him at his own expense. Manuel's a little wary. Jamie assured him he could trust him.
Big Al Ryan stomped up to Tops. Police Commissioner Ryan came to confirm that the real killer was after Crystal. Felicia offered to let her out of her remaining show. Crystal very bravely agreed to stick it out.
Jamie impressed Lisa. Well, she doesn't think he's a chump. Manuel wouldn't tell where his parents were. Jamie and Lisa said nice things to each other.
MJ rush down to the address to meet up with Adam and the other cops. He said she should have stayed away. They went into the room and she saw a policeman's uniform suspended from the ceiling with Adam's photograph attached to for the face. Adam in effigy.
