Victoria is on to Donna. She was thrilled to hear Michael had sent a security deputation to fetch Donna. Clara welcomed John. Michael was civil to him.
Sam stared when Mitch dropped by dressed as Santa Claus. He refused to cruise past the Corys' to drop off Matthew's gift.
Christmas at the Romance, no longer a madhouse since the children's bodies grew up, if not their brains. The Corys want to be happy and Samless. Matthew didn't get it. Jamie and Lisa and Liz and Adam arrived. Jamie said the Frame farm was up for auction. Adam stuffed his face. Amanda brought Jamie up to date.
Donna waited impatiently. She phoned Bridget and found Michael hadn't called. Bridget advised her to come home. Donna asked her to fan the flames with a worried visit to Michael. Bridget was unhappy. Donna pushed her. She unplugged the phone smugly.
Michael did worry a little. John advised him to go to Donna. He told him Donna had always loved him and anything else was his [John's] fantasy.
Sam told Mitch he didn't want to be shut out. Mitch advised him not to pretend to Amanda he didn't care about her simply to protect himself.
Mac made a Christmas toast. The doorbell rang; Mac felt extremely hospitable until he saw Mitch on the doorstep. Timeo Danaos et dona ferentis.
Nicole heard Cass had hired a contractor without consulting her. He apologized for being thoughtless and promised to reform. He thought she was behaving oddly when she refused to tell him what parties she would be attending today.
Clara enjoyed having John for Christmas. Michael got a disturbing phone call. His security guy broke his ankle without finding Donna. Bridget stopped by to lie. Michael rushed off. Victoria and John thought perhaps Donna was really in trouble. Bridget felt guilty.
Felicia told Cass she thought Nicole was depressed because it was Christmas. She advised him to stop being sexist. He said he wasn't. He has his place, she has hers. Felicia advised him not to tell Nicole that. He said he thought the problem was Nicole expected him to be like Rex and reacted badly when he wasn't. Nicole came up. Felicia dragged Wally off. Nicole apologized to Cass. They declared a truce. Nicole gave Cass a gift.
Mac and Rachel invited Mitch to stay for Matthew. Matthew asked Amanda about Sam. Amanda told him it was none of his business. Mitch was nice to Amanda. Everyone sang carols.
Donna saw Michael coming. She told him how awful it had been to be stranded. He noticed the table set romantically and followed the phone cord until he found the end unplugged. Donna tried to pretend she hadn't done it. Michael didn't buy it. She acted like a child. He asked who the champagne was for. She admitted she'd set the trap. She asked if it was a crime not to want to be alone on Christmas.
Sam dropped by the Corys'. Everyone was civil. Matthew was thrilled when Sam asked to see Amanda and rushed upstairs to fetch her.
Amanda slipped out of her room, dressed to go out. Matthew just missed her. He knocked and called, but she didn't answer.
Matthew told Sam Amanda wouldn't answer. Rachel said she was probably asleep. Sam looked desolated. He left. Mitch followed.
Amanda went to Sam's with a gift. She let herself in with her key and placed the package under his tree. She found a lovely card for Mandy, wishing that they might spend future Christmases together. She left it on the table and let herself out.
Nicole gave Cass a sweater. She realized she'd used Rex for the measurements and was embarrassed. She kept talking about how busy she would be for Christmas.
Michael was unable to get his car out of a drift. He said he would have to stay the night. He let Donna know he did not appreciate being tricked and manipulated. He refused to play a board game and settled on the couch for the night. Donna told him there were plenty of pillows and blankets in the bedroom if he wanted. She began to undress, having left the door open strategically.
Jamie and Lisa left the party and kissed on the doorstep.
Mac and Rachel kissed in the living room.
Sam returned home and threw Amanda's gift in the bin. He did not see the gift she had left for him.
Amanda brooded. Michael kept to himself. Donna made sure he saw her in a white thing. He closed the door behind her.
Mitch feels he never gets enough of Matthew. If he had a house, now, he could maybe have him live in. He and Felicia danced.
