ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 25, 1985

Mac says they'll be spending a quiet evening home alone. Rachel's not sure she's in the mood for one.

Tom's not thrilled by her outfit but the bartender or whatever he is said she'd get big tips.

Catlin presumably on his way over to see Sally wondering what he's going to tell her.

Sally said Peter was scaring her. Her first thought was Catlin could be hurt. Peter reassured her on that point. He told her he'd gone to Wyoming and Oregon. She said she didn't want to hear anything about Wyoming or Oregon. He said she had to listen it was about Catlin's wife.

Mac apologized for losing his temper with Rachel the other night. Flowers came for Rachel from Mac in a virtually indestructible vase. They're getting along quite nicely. He says he won't push her.

Liz maintains that Sally and Catlin's lives are at stake. MJ arrived and took her off giggling.

Sally told Peter she was Catlin's wife and he should stop interfering. He said he cared about her. She said that had been over a long time ago. He said he didn't want to see her hurt and he was only behaving in her best interests. She said he was trying to get back what they had before and he was to stop it. STOP IT PETER she said raising her voice slightly as Catlin came in. He asked STOP WHAT? And WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, PETER? Sally said he'd been trying to tell her something. Catlin asked what she wanted stopped. She said 'twas nothing. He told Peter to get out. Peter went wordlessly. Sally divined that something was wrong.

Grant and Carter are pleased the highway's been rerouted.

Tom called Carter. He told her about the highway. She told him about the job. She didn't tell him how sort of sleazy the place is.

Catlin told Sally Brittany was alive and at Larry's and Evan was still dead and he [Catlin] was numb. He also said Britt was deef & dumb. Sally was sort of stunned. She doesn't seem to let it cross her mind that Catlin just might choose t'other. She says they'll find a way to help her.

Peter presented his side of the story to Mac and won him over to his side.

Jamie went to see MJ. He hates Peter. He says he's self-centered and insensitive and a creep. He told her what Peter'd done to Kathleen and Cass. MJ: It's strange. Kathleen didn't mention anything about that to me. Jamie: well I'm surprised. She was ready to kill him. MJ: Well I talked to her on the phone about an hour ago. She said she was out of town. Jamie: Oh yeah, out of town. But she's not on business. MJ: Well it didn't sound businesslike there was a lot of giggling in the background. Jamie: I've got to tell you something. I really, REALLY don't understand your sister's relationship with Cass AT ALL. MJ: There's nothing to understand. They broke up. Jamie: Well looks like they unbroke up a couple of hours ago. MJ: What? Jamie: Cass walked in and carried her out of the complex. MJ: he CARRIED her? Carried her, Jamie? And she went? Jamie: I don't think she had much of a choice. MJ: So ROMANTIC. Jamie: oh, you think so? MJ: No, Jamie, no, no if you pull that around here they'll bust me to meter maid. They arranged to have dinner and go to bed early.

Mac went to take a long distance call. Rachel talked to Peter alone. She was friendly to him. She asked him to dinner. She likes him.

Catlin and Sally didn't talk about Brittany in a strained sort of way. Sally said she thought they needed a rack to put their POTS AND PANS on. It suddenly occurred to her that Catlin had had a home with Brittany. To cheer her up he carried her over the threshold for real and promised to change the name on the mailbox. She offered him food. He'll eat. She suggested they invite Britt for dinner some time. Catlin awkwardly confessed that Britt wanted him back. Sally seemed to find this incredible [in its most literal sense]. Kevin came bounding out to greet Catlin and make sure if they ever went away again he'd go too. Catlin assured him that they were a family and (ostensibly to Kevin but looking at Sally) being a family was the best thing in the whole world.

Mac's not thrilled that Peter's been invited but he was polite. Peter went out to the garden. Jamie arrived and invited himself and MJ to dinner but uninvited himself when he heard about Peter. Rachel went out and Jamie told Mac what slime Peter was. Mac will deal with it later. Peter and Rachel came back in.

Tom has a friendly (slightly drunk) customer. He asked her out but she let on she had a husband so he gave that up nicely. He said she was beautiful and left her a $50 tip.

Catlin talked to Liz who admitted she'd acted rashly. Sally sent Kevin to get his gifts to show Aunt Liz. Kevin asked Catlin about the other gift but Catlin said he wouldn't give it to him until later. Kevin went to his room. Sally thinks Kevin will figure out that something's wrong but it's nobody's fault that this happened. Liz thinks Catlin and Sally should talk alone without Kevin. Kevin reappeared and Liz asked him to keep her company just one more night but he wants to sleep in his new bunk bed in his house.

Peter and Jamie left alone argued. Jamie called him dishonest and underhanded. Peter adopted his REASONABLE attitude. Jamie left. Rachel was perplexed.

Tom got off and went to Smiley's. She's hungry. Everything went out of focus for a bit. She didn't tell Carter. She didn't tell him about the big tip either.

Jamie sitting with MJ abstractedly. She got annoyed and said she would fight any number of sex goddesses for him but she couldn't compete with Peter. "It's not fair, he's a guy." she said she was hungry. He kissed her and agreed to feed her Chinese food and said she was uncomplicated.

Rachel continued being friendly to Peter. Above and beyond the call of duty in Mac's opinion. Peter left and Mac accused her of FLIRTING with him. She got mad and said she was moving out. Tomorrow.

Catlin and Sally are in bed. Not all over each other however. Sally: Kevin's fast asleep. He loves his new room. (Long pause.) I never thought our first night in the cabin would be like this. (Long pause.) Catlin: I love you. You're my wife. He leaned across her to put out the light.
