ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 24, 1986

Cass said he wasn't sure it was a good idea. Tania wouldn't take no for an answer. Your place or mine? Mine said Cass.

Kathleen got Cass' super to let her in and bring her bags up.

Jake: I don't believe this. Marley: I didn't mean to upset you. Jake: well, you have. I am. I'm upset. Marley: Jake, please — Jake: no, no, look around, look. Marley: well, it's — nice. Jake: it's nice. NICE. That's all you can say is it's nice. Marley: cozy? Jake: Marley, what else do you want, I mean it's got Navy surplus paint on the walls, the roof doesn't leak. It's got a closet, a bathroom, some furniture — we're set. How could you not want to live here? Marley: well —honey. I just think that when two people are starting out and they're just getting married that maybe they shouldn't live — you know they should go find someplace new, just for them — Jake clamped his hand over his mouth in an effort to keep from laughing. He was only teasing and she was so distressed, poor thing. They decided to start house hunting soon. Mr. Reilly came around to collect.

Donna recognized him [Michael]. She was thrilled to bits. She cried. He was a bit shaken up. They're overwhelmed. It's wonderful. He told her he was the stablehand.

Jake told him he didn't have the money. Mr. Reilly was less than thrilled and said they'd have to extract it the hard way. Marley: just one moment Mr — whatever your name is. Mr. Reilly: Reilly. But you can call me Mr. Reilly. Marley: yes. Well there are laws against intimidation. Mr. Reilly: you don't mean it. Marley: yes. Reilly: well nobody told ME. Marley: we can have you reported. She made toward the phone but Jake stopped her. He said he'd see Mr. Baines tonight. Exit Mr. Reilly. Marley told him he had to tell her who that man was. It's that honesty thing.

Wallingford tried to prevent Cass from leaving with Tania. He told her Cass had once dressed as a woman. Tania said that was interesting. Cass told Wally life went on and they'd talk in the morning.

Kathleen took out Mickey and a hope balloon.

Michael assured Donna he hadn't told anyone and NEITHER HAD SHE. Bridget interrupted to say the man from the government had come. Donna blamed it on Jake. She sent Bridget to fetch Victoria and asked Michael to come back later. He said they had things to discuss. He returned to the stables and ran into Victoria. He told her to face up to the government and tell it she wanted her own lawyer. She was convinced although she didn't know why he was able to convince her. He said it was because he cared so much. Exit Victoria. He got on the phone.

Jake was vague. Marley offered to lend him the money. She doesn't like Mr. Reilly's looks. She told him she loved him. He reciprocated. She left to go to Donna's.

Kathleen hopes Cass will be glad to see her. She heard Cass and Tania assemble outside his door discussing his bedroom and his bed. Cass suddenly decided he couldn't go through with it. He said he kept thinking about Kathleen and he'd take her home. She hasn't given up hope.

Victoria told Jamieson [the government guy] she was waiting for her lawyer brother. Donna backed her up. Jamieson: look, if I return to Washington without the information I need they will simply have subpoenas issued to force testimony in front of a grand jury. Vic: well that's exciting. I mean I've never been subpoenaed before. Jamieson: this isn't a joke, Miss Love. Vic: I know it's not. I mean it's not even funny. As a matter of fact it's not even interesting, it's getting duller and duller by the minute. Don't take it personally though, Mr. Jamieson. I just happened to bore easily. Exit Jamieson. Donna has faith in Peter.

Michael called his friend about leaving Victoria out of this. He promised the Egyptian government full restitution [we are singing to the tune of $1.4 million].

Jake is doing his very best impersonation of a tree stump in Smiley's. A tree stump related to Echo, that is; he dutifully repeated "thanks, Maisie" from the depths of his brooding fog. Victoria joined him. She told him things had gone well with the government. He said sometimes he wished he'd taken a stone. She was interested and asked what he meant. He said he'd been merely making conversation and fled to meet Baines. Maisie thinks marrying Marley will be a Good Thing. Victoria called a seamstress to ask her to make a dress for a wedding.

Wallingford told Cass he'd done the right thing. He said it wouldn't be fair to another woman to use her as a substitute. He doesn't know what to do now. He decided to go home and prepare for work.

Kathleen is afraid Cass stayed at Tania's place.

Michael returned to Donna. She mentioned her sister Victoria. She told him the past had been wonderful and he had the same look in his eyes as she remembered. She asked if he'd always been a stablehand. He asked if it mattered. She said she would have done anything to help if she'd known. He said he was quitting. She was sorry to hear that. He said he'd enjoyed getting to know Marley and Victoria. She agreed her sisters were swell. He confronted her with the truth. He yelled at her for calling them her sisters and not trying to communicate the fact that he had daughters to him. Enter Marley. Michael left with the intention of returning later. Marley asked why he was weird. Donna said she didn't know. Marley asked if she'd seen the sketch of her dress. Donna was abstracted. Marley said she wanted Peter so like a father to give her away. Donna snapped at her. Exit Marley.

Kathleen called a cab. She's upset. Cass came back.

Jake was refused an extension. Mr. Reilly's going to work him over — except for his eyes and hands this time, because he's a cameraman.

Michael told Donna he wanted the twins to know he was their father. He yelled for them.

Cass returned home. Everything's well except Kathleen's in California. She revealed herself.
