ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 24, 1986

Kathleen is keyed up. The doctor took her in.

Michael helped Bridget move things. He gazed at a photo of Donna at Marley's age.

Jake was confused. Baines explained that he owed $10,000 for having the money at all. There are wicked unscrupulous men in this world who make a killing with borrowed money [say, at the track] on the first day and try to return it without interest. No go. He has 30 days to come up with 10Gs. Goodbye, Jake. Don't tell MJ for Marley's sake.

Bridget asked Michael about himself. He said he had no family and asked about her. She said she'd never married but had raised a child. He talked about the difference between the twins. She said Vic wasn't sweet & innocent etc because she hadn't had Marley's advantages. She was quite fierce. He said Vic could be fine too. Bridget calmed down. She got around seeming to know Vic so well.

The doctor told Kathleen there were no guarantees. He explained the treatment and warned her it might hurt some. She did she said she didn't care, if she got to walk again. He was cagey. She was determined. He suggested they start immediately. She was surprised but eager. Edouard was hesitant.

Neal and Fayez don't get along. Fayez is to dynamite any back entrances shut and install cameras to monitor night and day.

Catlin assured Larry that the treasure was still in Bay City. Larry was noncommittal. Wouldn't it be nice to get $50,000. Being PIs is tough on the pocketbook. Larry spoke of the good old days when infidelity was the only grounds for divorce [oh, let's get really tactful] and PIs had more work than they knew what to do with. Catlin suggested Larry return to the force. Larry took offence.

Jake kicked himself. Wally and Carter rushed up to his room to commend him. He neglected to mention the 10Gs. He thanked them for their help. Wally told him he might regret this but at least he'd live to regret it. Emphasis on the live. Exit Wally and Carter. Kick. Stomp.

Larry yelled at Clarice for talking to Catlin behind his back. They joined forces and told him they hadn't joined forces. But Clarice pointed out he'd been kinda cranky lately. He said he'd stop snapping. Happily married Ewings can do anything.

Marley called Jake. They had a nice chat. He didn't disillusion her about the Plains Motel. He said he needed her to come home. They are swooping through France and the Plains Motel has softened her somewhat. Marley is eager to help. They're madly in love and missing each other furiously. Ouch.

Thinkety think think think. Who? The doctor did something to Kathleen but was it in the same breath? Impossible to tell. So let's check out the legs. Will they move? The doctor chucked Edouard out and told Kathleen her injury wasn't as bad as it could be so she may walk again with therapy but this particular process has a waiting list of folks who are worse off. Kathleen can do this on her own possibly. She got upset. She became convinced that there was no hope ever. He said she didn't understand. She said he'd killed her last hope.

Fayez says the men are nervous.

Carter raved to Jake about the treasure theft and all the money and Lou Hunt. Jake echoed every incredulous statement and drifted away. He thought about Victoria saying he'd thrown away his Chance with the treasure.

Kathleen is wildly distraught. Edouard told her doctors weren't trying to placate her when they said she could walk again. She's just too impatient. She said she wouldn't go back to physical therapy. She has realized there is no hope. She's taking this lying down.

Bridget went to make tea and left Michael in the attic among the Love boxes. He sounds still in love with Donna. He can't think why they lost each other. Young Donna said she never knew he'd grow old. He said "what a fool."

Larry is leaning toward the force. Clarice wants to talk and make a decision.

Victoria rushed up to Jake to ask about the Plains Motel. He seems to be wearing a strange hat. He was curt and rushed out. She wondered where he was going.

Kathleen cancelled her physical therapy. Edouard remonstrated with her. He has to go back on location. She told him not to stay.

Neal met Vic in Smiley's and swore a solemn oath not to indulge in banter. He thought about Fayez and security and the possibility of Vic having sneaked in. Catlin rolled up and told Neal he'd tell him if anything came up about the treasure. He rolled out and Victoria asked why Catlin was confiding in him about the feds. He said it was for Unca Mac. He hinted that she should confess to him her part in the treasure theft and she said just because he suspected her she didn't have to suspect him. When he asked what she was talking about she said it was just banter and took that as her exit line. He called the Dolphin to say all was well. The Dolphin is not M. Garbon. He said he would take out a young woman who was on to them.

Kathleen told Edouard she'd be fine. She can make coffee. He called Cass behind her back.

Michael found Donna's diary with reference to her beloved daughter Marley. Victoria found him.

Jake returned to the treasure. Sound of a gunshot.
