ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

July 22, 1985

Victoria told the Loves she'd been so scared. Peter was convinced there was more to it and asked her why she'd waited. He behaved in a very lawyerlike fashion and asked what else she hadn't told.

Larry looked at a photograph of Clarice in his wallet and hid it under his pillow (he's back at the Rosewood Hotel) when Adrienne came a-knocking at his door. She's AWOL from the Plains Motel but she kissed him and said he'd be glad she came.

Rachel said the thugs were very good, better than the car accident but no one would hold up a bowling alley. Bobby shot a bottle to prove they were for real.

Tommy Lee: Yeah, tomorrow's fine. Listen, I want to talk to -- Jimmy: Did he hang up on you? Tommy Lee: He put me on hold. Jimmy: Gee, he didn't use to put you on hold, Tommy. Does that mean trouble or what? Tommy Lee: I think it means another call, jerk. Jimmy: You're getting a little tense about all this, aren't you? Tommy Lee: I'm getting a little sick of you, that's all. Jimmy: well, you're no day at the beach yourself, pal. Brittany appeared looking pleased with herself bearing two bottles of an unidentified alcoholic beverage. Jimmy called her 'sports fan' and told her he'd sent her for two CASES. She looked uncomprehending and witless (she's good at that). Tommy Lee talked to the Man repeating the information about the hired gun. (He arrives on flight 232 tomorrow from New York. 10:25 am. Wearing a blue raincoat carrying a brown suitcase. Tall guy. Name of ROY BOWMAN. That's not just muscle that's a serious hit man. (The first question I asked myself this morning was 'how does one disguise 6'4" of ANYTHING?' Now we know.)) Jimmy continued to give Brittany a hard time about the cases and sent her for them. He enjoys it. Tommy Lee noticed Adrienne wasn't about and was annoyed.

Adrienne told Larry she was loyal to him now and he's her man now. She told him Tommy Lee was having a gun sent in from outside. She's pleased she could help Larry and said she'd find out what she could for him. She told him about her rotten sex life with Tommy Lee. He's rough. She doesn't think Larry's like that. He's no pushover but he's not rough. She stumbled around in her explanation and said she was tired of feeling bad and he held her soothingly.

Peter persisted but Donna and Marley stood up for her [Vic] and were kind to her. Peter backed off. They love her. Marley went to change for the lawyer. Donna went to the kitchen. Peter apologised.

Rachel was convinced and started to panic. She remembered Carl and Nancy and said over and over 'Nancy it's okay honey.' They thought she was insane. Mac comforted her and got whacked on the back of his neck for his trouble. Rachel took fits and wailed about what she remembered about Carl and Mac shooting. The thugs took Mac's wallet and were thrilled to find he was Mackenzie Cory and decided to kidnap him. Rachel screamed NO and was distracting enough for Mac to get a thug's gun and Charlotte to get a large rifle-like weapon. Charlotte: Peg, call the cops! Peg: What do you think I'm doing, ordering pizza? The thugs were subdued. Rachel has her memory back. She was afraid of losing Mac.

Victoria's not particularly thrilled with herself for laundering the truth. Bridget is eager for her to ignore that. Marley appeared with a gift for Victoria from Jake -- a beautiful silver heart-shaped locket. Vic was thrilled until Marley told her Jake had given her the same thing. She stomped it into the carpet.

Brittany called Catlin with the information about Roy Bowman. "Are you calling from the Plains Motel?" "Yeah, that's right, I'm sitting on Tommy Lee's lap. What do you think I am, stupid?" (She should have an affair with Tommy Lee. Do her good.) He said he worried about her. She was pleased. He told her to quit the job. She said he had to admit she was a useful source of information. ADMIT IT, COWBOY, ADMIT IT. He persisted in telling her to quit but she rang off telling him to tell Larry. He went to the door and opened it to find Sally standing there key in hand. Sally: well where do you think you're going? Catlin: Hey, Sally. Sally: Don't hey Sally ME. Where do you think you're going? Catlin: Um -- over to Mason's. Sally: Catlin, you PROMISED. Come on, you promised. Catlin: What? Sally: That you were going to take the old wax off the kitchen floor for me. Catlin: Oh, yeah. Listen, how could I forget. Sally: Oh, come on, sailor, I'll make it worth your while. (Nice line, that. Like to see Rome, sailor boy?) Catlin: I'd love to -- listen, I promised Mason from work. Sally: You promised ME. I'm your wife. Catlin: Look let me do this and as soon as I come back I'll do the floors. Sally: well how long is it going to take you? Catlin: an hour, no more. I PROMISE. Sally: EMPTY PROMISES. Kissing. Have a good time. Catlin: I'll be thinking about the wax the WHOLE time. Sally: SURE you will. He told Sally they were putting Mason's car up on blocks and called Larry (with her standing behind listening with her arms about him) addressing him as Mason to say he'd be over in a little while. Larry proceeded to get rid of Adrienne.

Rachel thinks they should go away together. Mac told the sisters they could do a bowling sports feature emanating from Char & Peg's Super Bowl. (Charlotte on thugs: IF THEIR PARENTS HAD TAKEN THEM BOWLING I'LL BET THAT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.) Mac called home to tell them Rachel recalls.

The lawyer Fielding has been in charge of the trust for a long time. Peter had to go to law school to get his money and Donna had to refrain from marriage until she was 21. What will Marley's condition be? The lawyer opened Marley's and found something unexpected. They have to wait three more years for the money. They will get a yearly allowance of $50,000.00 apiece. $11 million each at 21.

The Corys are plotting a party for Rachel. Brian and Liz are coming. They arrived. Everybody's thrilled. Rachel's unamnesia'd. Enter Jamie sans MJ to help celebrate. Enter Mac and Rachel.

Larry and MJ wonder how to use the information. Catlin had a brainstorm.

Marley's gone to bed. Donna wants to have a wild party with young people for them. Victoria wants new clothes and a car. She's thoroughly enjoying her birthday for everything, not just the money.

Adrienne returned to the Plains Motel and heard Tommy Lee and Jimmy discussing Bowman who is not a nice man and kills people at the drop of a hat. He's no dummy either. So nobody messes with him.

Catlin wants to be Bowman. Larry's against it. Catlin said if he did this they could be at home where they belonged a lot sooner. "HEAR, HEAR," said MJ. "What, are you on HIS side?" said Larry. He says it's a stupid idea and Catlin's not going in there. Catlin can't think of a reason not to. "What about Sally? You want to do this to Sally?" "What? What you did to Clarice? No, no I don't." MJ told Larry he needed help. She seems to think they should do a PMI for this. "All right now, okay, now say for the sake of argument that we go ahead with the plan. What would we need?" "PALLBEARERS." They need to pump Roy. Larry said they'd have to delay Jimmy and get the right gun.

Rachel's glad to see her children. The little ones went to bed. She had a nice chat with Jamie. They went for a walk.

Mac told the rest of the gathering that Dr Highsmith had been right and Rachel was so afraid of losing people that she blanked out. Liz went to call Sally to tell her of Rachel's marvellous recovery. Mac said to invite her over. Sally was thrilled but couldn't come because she was alone with Kevin waiting for Catlin to return. She got up and started lighting candles. Enter Catlin. Catlin: I'm sorry I'm late. Sally: That's okay. Catlin: No it's not. I told you I'd be right back. We lost track of time. Sally: Are you hungry? Did you eat? Catlin: No, no. Yes, I had a sandwich. Sally: How's Betty? Catlin: Huh? Sally: Mrs Mason. How's Betty? Catlin: Oh, she's great, great. Sally: You know I was supposed to call her last week about that -- phone ringing. Catlin: I'll get it (crossing the room at breakneck speed). Sally: Catlin, it's going to ring more than once. It was MJ telling him the right gun was a .44 magnum and he'd get a crash course in the morning. He told Sally she was worried the department would press charges (for Larry's criminality). Sally: Poor Clarice. And I'm all upset because you're late fixing a friend's car. Thank goodness we don't have those kinds of problems. Fond embrace with Catlin looking morosely over her shoulder. COMMERCIAL. Sally (now alone) lit candles on the mantel. Catlin appeared fresh from the shower (at least damp and wearing a towel). She chattered about how she hadn't thought a sandwich enough and reheated a casserole. He was silent and somehow crossed the room without my noticing in order to kiss her (mostly her neck) before saying "Let's go to bed" and picking her up and wandering off. (I seriously sincerely believed for a couple of minutes that he was tired and wanted to sleep.) Just once I'd like to see Sally get out of the room under her own steam. On those occasions on which she hasn't been carried out usually they've merely collapsed in there and never left the room. HEY. He's supposed to be doing the floors.

MJ called Larry to tell him she'd got the gun. He's concerned about Britt and more worried about Catlin. He thought about seeing Clarice in Smiley's and looked at the photograph of her and Cory. Then he thought about Adrienne earlier today.

Marley was not upset by the trust fund. Donna and Marley want to know about Victoria's life in Galesburg. Marley's determined to find out. She found the stomped-on locket.

Mac and Rachel are back on the boil. They're going to the lake tomorrow. Mac's happy.
