ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 18, 1987

Victoria dumped her date and came back in. Michael demanded an explanation of John.

Mary gasped.

Mac was pleased with Amanda. She hugged her parents and Jamie. She has her jeans on underneath the dress.

Vince showed Mary the inscription: "our love -- forever". The same inscription that was on her first ring. He put it on her finger. Mary came close to tears. Vince wouldn't let her talk. He asked her to marry him. He said he wanted her to wear the ring until she was sure of the answer. They embraced. She cried.

Lisa was introduced to Amanda. Amanda received scads of people. Cheryl and MJ came over. Amanda was nice about Kathleen. Felicia watched Cass walk around alone and went to phone Wally. One of the military types asked Amanda to dance but Rachel borrowed her from him for a talk.

Victoria pled with John. Michael was perplexed. Donna suggested they let John go. Clara blocked his exit. Michael got fed up. He insisted they have it out. Donna told him to give up.

Rachel lectured Amanda. Amanda let her know she didn't appreciate the coming out party. Rachel was a little hurt. Amanda assured her she was liking it much more than she'd expected to. Felicia told Mitch there was something about Wally's voice she couldn't like. Adam approached MJ at the buffet table. He asked how she was. She asked how he was. He said he was trying to find out who had sent him the video tape and if she was shielding someone he'd find out about it. He walked away. Chad rushed up. MJ refused to dance with him and fled. Mary tried to talk Vince out of making her wear the ring but he wouldn't budge. MJ rolled up and noticed the ring. She showed it to Cheryl. Cheryl was thrilled to pieces. So was MJ. Mary was agitated. There was a lot of hugging. Cheryl told Mitch and Felicia the thrilling news. Mary said she didn't think people should know right now. It might detract from Amanda's splash. Nobody liked it but Mary convinced them all. Felicia took Mitch off to dance. She realises Mary's dilemma. Cass stood around alone. Zack brought him a drink. And said a few comforting words about Quinn. Wally phoned Cass with word of the oldest established permanent floating crap game in Bay City. (Doesn't scan, but it's the thought that counts.) Pier 11. Lisa tantalised Jamie. Amanda's cake came out. Everyone sang. Cass kissed Felicia and ran.

Clara tried to break it up. That Old Carrot distracted Michael long enough for John to reach the stairs. Michael demanded the truth. Donna said she'd tell him. Everyone stared. Michael was surprised she knew. Donna said John was going to accuse Michael of killing his father. Michael ran out after John.

Peter and Peggy said goodnight to Amanda. Matthew walked Suzy out. Vince called MJ Mike (huzzah) and said they were leaving. MJ said she was happy for them. Adam stared at MJ. She stared back, then glanced at Chad. Adam continued to stare ominously. Jamie pestered Lisa. She made him close his eyes. She decided she didn't trust him and went looking for a blindfold. Julie looked for an earring in vain. She said goodnight. Felicia and Mitch left.

Cass gambled recklessly and lost. He hasn't got the money. Wally wept in sympathy.

Mary tried to calm Cheryl down. Cheryl assured her they would all get married and live happily ever after. She went in to bed. Vince opened their bedroom door.

That Old Carrot behaved like a jackass. Donna showed him out. Victoria asked Donna what was going on. Michael brought John back in and told Donna to tell John what she'd told him. Donna wiggled her eyebrows desperately and told John what she'd said. He told her she shouldn't have spoken for him. Michael asked if she was right. John gave up and let Donna's story stand. She said she'd done what she'd thought was best. Michael told everyone to leave so he could talk to John alone. Donna refused to go.

Lisa led Jamie into a surprise room full of furniture.

Cass tried to avoid being beaten to a pulp. He proposed double or nothing. The two guys demanded to see cash. Cass ill-advisedly suggested that the dice were loaded. This did not go over big. Wally leaped for a nearby pay phone.

Felicia and Mitch came up to Tops. Wally's plea got through.

Mary hesitated and went into the bedroom. Vince was pleased. He asked her to say she would marry him.
