ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 17, 1988

Flowers came for Nicole. She thanked Cass. He said he hadn't sent them. She read the card and was too much moved.

John told Cheryl he missed talking to her. She was pleased.

Jamie found Mac's car had been trashed. Mac went to look. He suspected it had to do with takeover. He decided to increase security.

John and Cheryl chatted. She told him he shouldn't think of himself as old. He asked about Kevin. She was unenthusiastic.

Cass and Nicole argued about Drew a little. We've heard it all before.

Jason came into Mary's Place to talk to Mary about the hospice. She said she'd thought she'd made her position clear. Jason told her not to cross him. She suggested he leave and never come back. Vince agreed with Mary. Jason left, saying no one would stand in his way.

Liz came to the salon with something for Cass from Michael's private investigators. Cass was delighted to find he'd been right about Drew. He left Liz to turn away all flower deliveries and to sedate Nicole if she got poetic.

Jamie and Rachel found Adam and Lisa giggling over one of Delaney's memos. Jamie looked disapproving. Lisa left. Jamie didn't speak to her. Rachel told him about the car. Adam said it might not have been related to the takeover. He found out Matthew drove the car as well. He said he'd give the case to Courtney Walker, new detective. Rachel said she'd go tell Zack. Adam offered Jamie coffee. Jamie refused. He asked if Adam and Lisa were seeing each other now.

John told Jason he should try working instead of intimidation. Jason left the room in a huff. Someone named Burt dropped in to quit.

Evidently That Old Carrot had sold all his Cory stock before the October crash to Drew.

Nicole complained about Cass to Liz. Liz told her she kind of liked him now. Nicole said Cass should trust her knowledge of Drew. Liz didn't tell her she had proof Drew was everything Cass said. Nicole said Drew and Cass were like night and day and she had long wondered what her life would have been like if she'd stayed with Drew. Enter Drew, also wondering.

Cheryl asked Mary if all men wanted women who had been around. She escaped before Mary could get anything out. Mary told Vince Cheryl had been restless and depressed and confused about her future. Vince said he thought Cheryl could handle it. Mary told him not to pressure Cheryl.

Burt told John he really liked working for him but his son had a basketball scholarship. I don't really understand.

Nicole was embarrassed. Liz fled, countess-like. Nicole thanked Drew for the roses. Drew asked her to dinner. Nicole hesitated. He pressed her. She succumbed. He said he'd pick her up at seven.

Oh, I get it. In order for Burt's son to take the scholarship, Burt would have to be making enough money by himself to support the family. He can't make enough working for John. Jason said getting the hospice would have solved that. John said Burt couldn't wait. He told Jason he wanted to present with him.

Adam told Jamie he wasn't seeing Lisa. Jamie said he was sorry he'd hit him. Adam said it was OK. Jamie let on he intended to sort things out with Lisa.

Lisa told Cheryl she'd wallow with her. They found they were both sick of being nice and well-behaved. They decided to go shopping together as an act of rebellion. Vince was annoyed to be left alone. He ordered a vegetarian to eat a hamburger because he was out of omelets. Jamie came in looking for Lisa. Vince said she'd kidnapped Cheryl. Jamie didn't leave a message on her answering machine.

Nicole gazed Drew's white roses and remembered happier Drew days. In a garden or orchard or something, both dressed in white. She had a braid. Cass found her looking dreamy and sad.

Rachel told Mac Adam didn't think the car had to do with the takeover. Mac couldn't imagine what else it could be and he said people didn't trash cars arbitrarily. [Mac has a lot to learn about vandals.] Rachel said Adam was just cautious. The phone rang but no one spoke.
