ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 17, 1988

Donna paced restlessly, thinking about Jake at the Pelican Club. She found Marley, who answered the phone eagerly "Jake?"

Sharlene told Josie she didn't like to think of her changing diapers. Josie told her she liked her job. Sharlene told her she should use her money to pay off the phone bills she'd rung up. They fought. Jason came in and told Josie not to talk to her mother like that. Josie stomped out.

Cass and Nicole sought shelter from the rain in an antique store. Cass wandered away. Nicole saw something that made her scream.

Marley told Donna she wasn't waiting for Jake to track her down. Donna told her there was something she should know about Jake.

Jake asked Larry Harry about Tiffany Simone. Harry complained that she was mysterious. He advised Jake to go to LA or New York if he wanted to get into the business. Jake said he had the best reason in the world to stay.

Sharlene refused to discuss Josie with Jason. He doesn't think she's strict enough with her. They chatted. John burst in and yelled at Jason for not being at work.

Nicole had been startled by a man with a helmet and spear. He was oldish. Cass reappeared. Nicole continued to be nervous. She was determined to buy something to appease the old gentleman. Cass found a brooch with the initial N. Nicole told him not to waste time haggling. The man said he didn't know what to charge them because he'd never seen the piece before.

Julie Anne and Amanda conspired to fix Ronnie up with Zack. Sam and Amanda gave Ronnie a painting. Ada dropped by with vast quantities of food.

It poured rain. Cass bought the brooch. Nicole was delighted. Cass and Nicole went deliriously out into the rain.

Marley accused Donna of exaggerating. She hung up. Jake hove into view in Donna's suite. He yelled at Donna for trying to interfere in his life. He told her he loved Marley and he was going to go into business in Bay City. He swore he'd never look at another woman. Donna was disgusted. She said she hoped Marley wouldn't take him back.

Julie Anne offered Ronnie a lift. Josie arrived. Ada told her to say hello to Sharlene for her. Matthew and Kevin burst in and offered to take Ali off the parents' hands. Josie was a little smug about her prior claim. Matthew didn't like her.

Cass and Nicole were soaked by the time they got back to their room. Nicole went to change. The French windows blew open, knocking the brooch onto the floor. Cass said they should leave. He said guys in horror films always ignored the warning signs and deserved to be decapitated. Nicole said "please don't go." He stayed. Nicole told him she loved him. She asked about Kathleen. He said this wasn't the same. There was a knock at the door. When Cass answered it he found an unmanned dinner trolley. He wheeled it inside eagerly.

Josie mocked Matthew for letting his grandmother tell him not to go to Europe. He offered to let her drive his Jeep. Josie did not fall all over herself for the opportunity.

John was cranky. Sharlene followed him out onto the porch. He told her he'd had to turn down 67 vets who wanted work. She understood how he felt.

Josie told Matthew she had to work. He and Kevin decided to leave. Josie overheard Matthew call Kevin Captain Cool. [I don't see how she can think Kevin is the Captain Cool she likes, considering that one announced he was a recent uncle.] She pondered.

Cass and Nicole drank champagne and thanked the anonymous donor. Nicole went to dry her hair. Cass got the engagement ring out of his pocket.

Chris seemed to regret the fact that Jason hadn't made a pass at her or a crude remark all day. He said it was a tactic. She asked him out.

John talked about his troubles while Sharlene did dishes. She made him dry.

Donna and Jake were fighting when Marley turned up. She had Donna leave the room. Marley announced she'd made her decision.

While Cass waited for Nicole he saw the wind blowing the curtains and a faint figure appear in the open window — a redhead in a pink nightdress. "Kathleen?" he said.
