ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 16, 1988

Cass and Nicole reached their destination — that hotel/restaurant [Haverhill Manor] where they would have made love if the Love mansion hadn't burned down. There weren't any rooms.

Donna phoned Zack to confess about the money. Michael overheard her asking if Mikey's parents had been found. Zack suggested she meet him at the Pelican Club on Chambers St. in Chicago. When Donna got off the phone she turned around and saw Michael.

Vicky and Jamie drank a whole bottle of wine. He suggested they not go out.

Mary has been trained in hypnosis. She set a metronome going very slowly and put Lisa under. When asked about Mikey Lisa seemed to be confusing him with her own life. She kept saying "it's not my fault."

Vicky said not on the first date. She agreed to participate in his comparison shopping spree as long as it didn't come down to good girl/bad girl. They headed for the door. The phone rang. It was Jake.

Cass tried to charm his way in. Chester wasn't charmed. Nicole produced $100. Bernice said the Rose Room was free. Chester tried to dissuade them. [I got the impression he had wanted it for a tryst with Bernice, but I could be wrong.] Cass and Nicole checked in.

Michael told Donna he'd like to be included in what she was doing. He said he'd go to the Pelican Club with her. She put him off. When Donna left Bridget brought Mikey in. Michael played enthusiastically. Donna slipped in and out, unnoticed, to get her coat. [in June?] The sight of Michael swinging Mikey around in the air increased her determination to restore him to his rightful parents.

Mary tried to calm Lisa down. Lisa gabbled on almost incoherently — I think she was upset about being raped and Jamie. Mary brought her out of it.

Jake told Vicky he'd had an incomprehensible letter from Marley. Vicky refused to decipher it for him. She said it was none of her business. She left with Jamie, who was impressed by her humanity.

Cass and Nicole went up to their room. The bellboy refused to bring the bags inside. He said if they had any problems to ask for Bill. Cass: oh, thanks, Bill. Bellboy: I'm Marty. Bill just started. He doesn't know any better. Marty fled without waiting for a tip. Cass and Nicole played Dracula. They giggled a lot.

Zack and Scott worked on Harry's lease. Harry is in a spin because Tiffany Simone draws a huge crowd but won't commit to a regular nightly appearance. Jamie and Vicky found a table. Jake showed up.

Mary told Lisa she could talk to her. Lisa told her Jamie had slept with Vicky and it wasn't her fault. She sees some comparison between this situation and some other unspecified situation.

Bridget took Mikey up to bed while Michael chatted with Marley on the phone.

Jamie and Vicky danced. Jake watched. A couple of women drooled over him and contemplated picking him up. Harry introduced Tiffany Simone. She sang "How Will I Know". Everyone loved it. One of the two women approached Jake as Donna came in. Tiffany finished her number and left. Jake told the woman he was married but he would talk to her if she'd settled for that. She was impressed by his niceness. Donna stared. Zack claimed her. She had brought flyers advertising a reward for information leading to Mikey's parents.

Michael played with Mikey and imagined him getting older and older. Donna came in and found them sleeping on the couch. "He's not our child, Michael... no matter how much you want him to be."

Cass and Nicole stood out on the balcony. He sang "I only have eyes for you" in between kisses. Nicole said she was hungry. Cass phoned room service. It refused to deliver. Cass and Nicole went back to kissing. The bedside table started rattling. Cass' watch was shaken onto the floor. Cass and Nicole were puzzled. The watch had stopped at 2:17.

Lisa said she hadn't driven Jamie away. She said she was afraid Jamie wouldn't love her enough.

Jamie kissed Vicky goodnight. She refused to invite him in even though he didn't seem inclined to refuse. [Are these the acts of an honourable man?]
