ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

July 17, 1987

John felt Donna's face and told her he could see.

MJ was not at the church when Mary and Vince got there. Vince was sure everything would be okay. Cheryl gave Becky her bouquet to carry.

Adam told MJ it just wasn't possible. He said he loved her, he did love her, and he probably always would love her, but he couldn't trust her not to lie to him. The phone rang. Adam wouldn't let her answer it. He kept saying he didn't know her. She said she'd be whoever he wanted. MJ: We had a future, we had plans, we had dreams. You told me I was the only girl you'd ever loved. Adam: You were. MJ: Can't you find it in your heart to forgive me? Adam: FORGIVE you? How the hell am I supposed to forgive you? I don't even know you. MJ: Yes, you do. You're the only person who EVER knew me. All those other men were just -- Adam: Were just JOHNS, right? That's the word for them, isn't it? MJ: All right, yeah. Yeah, they're called johns. Do you want to know why? Because they don't want to know you and you don't want to know them. Adam: The TIME that we spent together. Those nights when I held you in my arms and you said to me "Oh, Adam, I've never felt like THIS before." MJ: It's true. I never felt that way about anybody before. Adam: Why was that? Because there were too many to remember. MJ: Don't be mean, PLEASE. Adam: It took me months before you'd even let me kiss you, you must have been laughing at me on the inside, huh. (I will never understand this reasoning. Men never seem to think that there is any reason other than serious virginity to keep a woman from sleeping with them right away, or at least that's what it sounds like.) MJ: You don't understand. Adam: I THOUGHT I KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. You certainly knew everything about me. MJ: Adam, I tried to tell you. Adam: WHEN? MJ: A THOUSAND times, I can't tell you how many times I sat there waiting for the right moment but something always got in the way. He accused her of telling him only because of the video tape. She denied it. He yelled at her. He said he had the right to expect honesty from someone he was going to spend the rest of his life with. She said he could trust her from now on. He said he couldn't. And he couldn't marry her. The phone rang again. He told her she'd better go. She ran out. He pulled the phone out of the wall.

Cheryl tried to calm Mary. Felicia came in and got panicked too. She led them in deep breathing exercises. Vince and Mac came in to say Adam hadn't shown. Mary said she'd kill them if they'd eloped. Mac said they wouldn't elope.

Donna hugged John delightedly. He suggested they go celebrate. Michael phoned. Donna was pleased to talk to him and tried to give the phone to John for his news but John walked out. She told Michael herself.

Sara set up a picnic and a kiddie pool on the roof. Chad showed up early and appreciated it. He took his clothes off. Sara drooled.

MJ showed up at the church and burst into tears, throwing herself into Mary's arms.

Victoria owes $38,000. Michael suggested she explain herself.

John got into his car and started the engine. Then he suffered another headache and his vision faded. Donna came out to stop him. He turned off the engine and despondently said he was blind again. Easy come, easy go.

Victoria said she and the guy she loved had come to Las Vegas to get married but that he had run out about the same time her money did.

Mary asked what happened. MJ said it wasn't Adam's fault when Vince began making threatening noises. Mac said he was certain Adam was quite as devastated as MJ. MJ said the wedding was off. Everyone was stunned. Adam came in and very nobly announced that he had decided it wouldn't be fair to MJ because he wasn't ready to get married. Vince told him he'd better get ready. Adam said he wasn't ready for that kind of equipment (I'm sorry, where is my brain? He said COMMITMENT.) Vince demanded a better explanation. Adam rambled on brokenly (and very very well) about his revelation this morning that he was not in any fit state to marry anybody. He interspersed this with very sincere pleas to MJ that he had tried to overcome it and that he loved her very much. Mary suggested they be left alone to talk but MJ refused. She said they had talked. Vince yelled a lot. Adam said they could send him the bill and left. Jamie followed him out but Adam told him to mind his own business. Vince looked like making a scene in the church but Mac tried to reason with him. Everyone left Mary and MJ alone.

Michael questioned the wisdom of running away with a gold digger one had known for three weeks. He told her she had to come back home and work the debt off.

Donna reassured John. She decided not to go to the wedding to watch him and wait for Michael's call. He told her he'd been going out to look at Molly and taunted her with jealousy.

Mary asked MJ what had really happened. MJ said she couldn't talk about it now. Mary said she'd be ready to listen any time. MJ said she didn't deserve Adam. Mary told her not to say that. MJ said she'd known it was true for a long time and fled. Vince told Mary he was going to go beat the truth out of Adam, or something.

Chad and Sara sat in the kiddie pool and laughed and splashed. There was a toy frog on the picnic basket. She told him what a great guy he was. He seems to appreciate her. She grew suggestive.

Adam went back to his wicked bachelor pad and poured a drink. Mac stopped in. Adam said he didn't think he'd be able to talk about it. Mac said to give it time. Adam figures he'll be pretty unpopular for jilting MJ. Vince arrived and demanded answers.

Felicia phoned Donna to report on the failed wedding. John approved of Adam's actions because marriage stinks. Donna was scandalised to hear him shooting off his mouth not knowing whereof he spoke. She told him she loved marriage and Michael. He got up and shook her hand off his arm.

Adam refused to tell Vince why he couldn't marry MJ. Mac took Adam's side. Adam told Vince to ask MJ. Vince stomped out, swearing to get to the bottom of this. Adam heard the church bells and brooded.

Chad heard the bells. Sara suggested he put lotion on her back. He obliged. She offered to do him. They were kissing when MJ came out, crying. Chad dropped Sara, and leaping up covered himself with a towel to rush over to MJ. Sara glared at her. MJ told Chad the wedding was off. He hugged her.
