Nicole told Cass he confused her. He kissed her. They fell over the furniture. Mitch walked in on them.
Jamie asked Lisa what was going on. That Old Carrot told André Nicole would be at the design house and not to hurt her. André left. Lisa hid behind Jamie. He asked what was up. She said she was working for the police and she couldn't talk about it. He insisted she tell him.
Jason asked why That Old Carrot would be asking a dead woman about a watch. Mary realized he knew something. She demanded details. She wouldn't let him leave. He became evasive. In the end he admitted he'd had Elizabeth's watch. He didn't wait for her to get dressed, he ran off to get it. Cheryl came in as Vince's deputy. Evidently Vince went to visit MJ, who is opening a restaurant. Cheryl thought it was strange for him to leave Mary. Mary said she'd asked him to.
Michael visited a Dr Bartok in Chicago. He had been coroner in Bay City and signed Elizabeth's death certificate without doing an autopsy. Michael said That Old Carrot had paid him off. Dr Bartok confessed. He said That Old Carrot had threatened him. Michael was delighted.
Cass said Nicole should look at Mitch's proofs of Cheryl, who is supposed to go to Monte Carlo, too. Nicole sent Mitch on ahead. Cass took her chain from her neck and said he'd put the watch on it. He called her baby once too often. She stomped upstairs. Cass was disgusted with himself. Donna came in and admired the chain in Cass' hand. She smiled slyly and told him he and Nicole should be lovers. [Try to imagine anything more revolting than Cass and Nicole being lovers. [Donna encouraging it.]]
Jamie blamed Adam. Lisa insisted she could take care of herself. She accused him of protecting her and wanting to be in charge of everything and thinking she can't do anything but make his cocoa. He backed down.
Donna told Cass every man in Nicole's life had been a mistake until him. She told him he had to make the first move. Said he. "I don't believe this! You're not Donna love, you're Dolly Levi." [Well, she's not Donna Love.] Nicole entered just in time to hear Donna saying Cass and Nicole were meant for each other and she wanted to see it happen. Cass hightailed it upstairs. Nicole told Donna to butt out. Donna was overcome with remorse. She burst into tears and said she was supposed to have lunch with Victoria and she always messed up. Nicole gave her Elizabeth's watch to carry as a lucky piece. Donna passed André on her way out. He said he'd been assigned to her [Nicole] as Monte Carlo security. When Cass came in André was kissing Nicole's hand. Cass made sure they were aware of his presence.
Michael found Jason and told him Dr Bartok had confessed. Jason said he was in a rush. Michael warned him it would be dangerous to do anything without telling someone in case That Old Carrot caught him. Jason told him Nicole had Elizabeth's watch which was important for some reason. Michael said he'd take care of it.
Mitch dropped in on Sam. They chatted about Sam's landlady until Mitch said he thought she was like mom, a little. Sam said she wasn't.
Nicole assured André they had an alarm system. Cass made a warning noise. Nicole asked for André's identification. It seemed all right. Cass went to get the electrician's diagram. André asked for a copy of Nicole's itinerary. She asked him to call her Nicole. She ran upstairs to fetch the itinerary. André searched ineffectually through the mess on the floor [leftover from Nicole's tantrum]. He had taken one glove off to do it. When he heard Michael and Jason approaching he fled. Michael entered and, finding the room in disarray, assumed that something terrible had happened. He yelled for Nicole. Nicole came down and assured him she knew about the mess. Cass came down and was disgusted with Nicole for leaving André alone. He stomped off. Michael asked Nicole if he could borrow her mother's watch so he could have a copy made for Donna. She told him she had let Donna borrow the watch for the day. Michael stared.
Donna walked proudly into Tops with Elizabeth's watch clearly visible about the level of her solar plexus and came across Lisa and Jamie fighting about her wish to split the cheque. Donna sided with Lisa. Jamie stomped out in a rage. [And people think this is a wonderful couple.] Lisa assured Donna she wasn't to blame. Lisa left. Donna was shown to a table. That Old Carrot walked over. For once Donna didn't get hysterical, although she did hold the menu protectively over her body, so he might not have seen the watch. When Victoria arrived and did not fall all over her grandfather he moved off. Victoria didn't exactly fall all over Donna either.
Sam enthused about Amanda. He asked Mitch to be his best man. Mitch said it would be an honour and no problem. Sam said he wasn't inviting his mother. He wouldn't let Mitch talk about it.
Mary talked about MJ as if she considered her the oldest McKinnon child, so perhaps she's reverted. She said MJ could have been spared a lot of unhappiness if she'd had an adult to turn to. She did not tell Cheryl about the prostitution. Cheryl left for the salon for a fitting.
Victoria was distant. Donna chattered. Victoria was interested to hear Jamie and Lisa had had a fight. Donna got a little weepy about her mother's suicide and headed for the ladies' room. She passed That Old Carrot on the phone to André. That Old Carrot spotted the watch.
Cass said he was going to check André's credentials. Nicole said she didn't want Donna's interference to spoil their business relationship. Cass agreed very readily. Nicole was put out. Cheryl arrived. Cass took her upstairs to see Sophie.
That Old Carrot told André he'd take care of it. Michael ran into Donna on her way back to her table and convinced her to let him have the watch without an explanation. He assured her there was nothing the matter and leaped into the elevator. That Old Carrot accosted Donna and was surprised to see she wasn't wearing the watch. He said he'd been sure she'd had Elizabeth's watch around her neck. She advised him to have his eyesight checked. He fumed.
Michael and Jason found numbers on the watch. 57. Jason insisted he didn't know what they meant. Mary examined the watch. EHL 57. Could it be a code? Jason said Elizabeth had told him she had enough on That Old Carrot to put him away.
Nicole talked to a dummy. Cass and Cheryl came downstairs and told Nicole how wonderful she was. Cheryl left for home. Cass and Nicole stared at each other. They both said they were busy. Cass: all work and no play makes Cass — rich. Exit Cass. Nicole tore the cloth from her dummy.
