MJ and Adam sat around kissing. Could this be love? he said.
The judge banged for order. He told Brittany to give Catlin an answer. She gazed at Catlin adoringly and said she would marry him whenever he liked. Sensation. The judge warned Zack and Peggy to keep things non emotional. Quoth Zack, "I understand, your honour, but we're dealing with two people who are in love with each other, they can't help themselves. It's just natural human PASSION." [Zack is an idiot. Catlin controlled himself perfectly well when Sally was around during his trial. They denied everything.] Quinn was up next. Zack requested a short recess.
Wallingford let Mitch know he'd be watching him. Felicia appeared. Wallingford gave her her mail. She grieved a little to see it was Christmas cards addressed to Mr and Mrs Zane. [The man has been dead since August and her friends don't know. This is as good as being friends with Reader's Digest.] enter Reginald demanding a table. He showed everyone the headline of the newspaper which proclaimed Scott and Cheryl's love for each other. Peter arrived and they went into breakfast. Reginald asked for a report on Michael's activities, having thoughtlessly rebuffed Wallingford.
Michael came to and attempted to phone Adam. He got a busy signal.
Adam's phone is off the hook.
Mary pointed out to Scott that he had garbage all over his face. Ada told Scott and Cheryl to take all the time they needed to find the ring. ("no restaurant really NEEDS a sink." Scott kept at it. Ada took Mary aside and told her her lack of employee woes. She attempted to hire her.
Reginald warned Peter not to embarrass him. Peter said he was afraid Zack was preparing to carve him up.
Zack meditated. Quinn appeared and told him what foul things the papers were saying about him. [they say he's lost control of his client and he's losing the case. He was surprised.] He resumed meditating, the better to destroy her testimony. She told him he couldn't shake her testimony because it was the truth.
Felicia moped over to Mary's Place. Mary asked what was bothering her. She wept a little and said it was Christmas without Zane. Ada and Mary comforted her. Mary told her she had to spend Christmas without her Reginald. Ada advised Felicia to move out of her apartment if it was more than she could bear. She said Mary would be too busy to notice. She offered Mary a job as a waitress. Mary protested. Ada insisted and gave her sensible shoes.
Kissing. MJ: I have never met anybody like you before. I mean—you're a man and I can TRUST you. I can trust you first as a friend. Adam: well, what comes second, AFTER first? Kissing. Adam tried in vain to ignore the knocking at his door, but Michael persisted. Michael was a little thrown by the bathrobe and the female gracing Adam's sofa bed, but Adam insisted on inviting him in. Adam and MJ sat him down.
Quinn swore herself in. She described what Brittany's phone call had been like, very precisely. When she said that Brittany had said "I'll kill him. I swear I'll kill Peter Love." Brittany leaned over to Zack and said, "I didn't mean it literally." Quinn admitted that she and Rachel had dashed over to the Love estate because they had believed Peter Love's life was in danger. Peggy turned her over to Zack. Zack dashed up and started accusing her of having lied. Quinn denied it. Order. [Zack was quite unruly. Zack revolts me.] The judge told him he would find him contemptuous if he didn't apologize. Zack gave in. He apologized and cross-examined. He proved that Quinn hadn't really believed that Brittany had meant to kill Peter because she hadn't called the police. Quinn became flustered. [I was annoyed.] he also proved that since Brittany had seemed agitated she hadn't really premeditated. [I don't follow that.] Quinn admitted he was right.
Reginald doesn't like Victoria and Nicole having to testify for the defence. He blames Michael. He means to use his power and wealth to make the Loves indispensable to Bay City and to destroy the McKinnons. Enter Gomez. Reginald sent Peter along. Gomez told him she was packed and ready to leave.
MJ tended to Michael's poor head. [I was quite surprised to see her running her fingers through his hair.] He asked Adam to find Dr Bowden. Adam said he couldn't. [Quel horrible traitor.] Michael took offence. MJ and Adam explained that they had nothing on him but he could hire a private investigator. They brooded on Donna's condition.
Gomez wants only to make Reginald happy. She feels she hasn't done enough. Exit Gomez. Wallingford tried again to make a business appointment with Reginald. That Old Carrot fobbed him off with a card.
Mary worried about what MJ would think and what Vince would do. Ada told her MJ loved her and had nothing to do with the restaurant and Vince was full of sound and fury signifying nothing. Mary's final and futile objection was that she was a klutz. Felicia and Ada bullied her into it. Scott and Cheryl found the ring and restored them their sink.
Catlin and Brittany told Zack he'd done great. He didn't seem happy. He asked them to leave him alone. They did. Enter Quinn. She yelled at him for having relished making her look foolish. He told her it wasn't personal.
Scott reringed Cheryl, having made her promise never to remove it. Reginald came a-knocking at the door.
Felicia decided to move into the Northwoods Inn.
Adam and MJ sat around with coffee and pie. They have a tree together. It's their first tree away from home.
Brittany thinks things are looking up. Peter told her he was going to put the final nail in her coffin.
