ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 15, 1986

Nancy has been crying in her sleep. She blames it on the rotten new apartment. Ada asked if she were in some kind of trouble. Nancy slumped down in the bath.

Donna: my life is ruined. My beautiful door is in splinters. Vic pointed out that Ralph had been a Bad Idea. Donna's certain Michael will tell Marley. Vic said she was lucky she had two daughters because she'll have at least one when the dust settles. She thinks she's lost Marley for good.

Brittany told Marley she was worried about Donna. SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED LAST NIGHT. Quelle innocente.

Cass brought Kathleen back to an empty McKinnon kitchen, decorated with a welcome home banner. When he mentioned things of greater interest to be done chez lui the party emerged from the pantry (headed by Vince yelling "don't you talk that kind of smut to my daughter.") Kathleen cut the cake. Sally invited her to the Ewing party. Kathleen hesitated. Cass promised they'd be there. Wally arrived. Vince had a McKinnon picture taken. Kathleen insisted on having Cass. Vince toasted her. MJ toasted her and Cass. Dee snapped the photo.

Nancy's cranky. Ada pressed her. The dream was a triple feature starring Victoria Love. Ada: what did Victoria Love ever do to you? Nancy: well she's doing it to Chris and he is Loving It. Ada forbore to comment. Nancy called Victoria a slut and said she was certain she'd had sex with Jake in the mine. Nancy thanks she'd have Chris back if it weren't for Victoria. She's considering telling Marley. Ada told her to get dressed.

Marley didn't see why it should matter to Michael in his treatment of Donna that some man had pretended to be her father. Brittany was surprised she didn't know and said she shouldn't have said anything. Marley made her tell. Brittany told her Donna had hired Ralph . Marley realised that Donna was protecting herself. "I hate lies," sighed Brittany. Marley is suspicious of her motives. Britt said she wanted to help Donna. She suggested Marley talk to her. Marley walked out. Britt raced after her to get a front row seat for the fireworks display.

Sally thinks her first week in May wedding will take this time. Apparently Liz and Kevin are thrilled. Cass approves of kids. Vince dragged Jake aside to yell at him about loan sharks. He gave him a hard time about Loves and money. Jake is firm in his resolve to stick to Marley.

Marley went to Donna's room. Donna fell to bits and said she couldn't deal with this now.

The party departed. Vince has a job interview. Cass doesn't work enough to make him happy. He has got this world cruise in his head and a year off. Kathleen wishes she could walk. Cass wouldn't let her stand.

Marley gave Donna a talking-to. Donna asked who had told her. Marley told her. Donna recovered somewhat from her decline and set out to commit murder. Marley stopped her and told her she [Donna] had hurt her, not the tale-bearer. Marley wants to hurt her back. Donna grovelled. Marley was upset to hear Vic had known about Ralph. Donna wept and said she loved her. Marley said she'd been happier when she thought her mother was dead. Enter Brittany. Donna threatened her and followed Marley out. Marley told her she and Jake would move to California once married. Exit Marley. Donna fell to bits sobbing she hadn't meant to hurt her. Marley almost turned back.

Nancy bitched to Neal. He's going to get a job with the Loves. (He likes Vic better than she does.)

Cass did the washing up. He made Kathleen dry. He made her stop so he could be reassuring. Vince returned with a leg of lamb. His job interview didn't go well. (He told MJ he hadn't really wanted the job. This bugs me.) He refused to live off his daughters. Only a bum hasn't got a job. Cass loves lamb. "Who asked you?" said Vince and stomped out. Cass claims he's making headway.

Marley tried to contact Jake. No luck. Nancy took her aside and hinted that if Victoria ran into him she wouldn't help him find her. Marley said Jake was the only person she trusted. Nancy said she hoped she trusted her .

Donna's wretched. She retired to her room moaning about California. Victoria said she didn't think so. She played a song about selling one's soul for total control over someone else while thinking about carrying on with Jake in varying degrees. (The Marleys used to look different. I hadn't realised.) Enter Jake in the flesh. He turned off the tape. He asked after Marley. She suggested he was leaving because she bothered him so much. He left as Neal came in. She yelled at him (she'd hoped to press the Jake thing). Neal suggested she cut her losses and give up on Jake. He turned the tape back on and asked her for a dance unless she had something more important to do. Said she, "EVERYTHING is more important than you, Neal. Try to remember that." Exit Victoria.

Nancy resents customer demands on her time. Marley told her to tell her what she was hinting at. Nancy hesitated. She was saved by Jake's entrance.

Neal had a civil chat with Brittany. She made certain he was aware of the drawbacks of the job and hired him. Exit Britt. Neal turned Victoria's tape on and said perhaps they'd have that dance after all .

When Cass started talking about Marrakesh etc Kathleen accused him of wanting to drop in on Cecile. He denied it.

Marley confided in Jake. He was ready to tear Donna and Vic limb from limb. He approved of fleeing the family.

Nancy's being cynical about Jake's affection.

Victoria paid the printer to change the wedding date on the invitations to July and pretend it was a mistake.
