ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

June 14, 1988

Rachel came out to the farm to say goodbye to Jamie but he wasn't there. She asked Jason to give Jamie a note for her. Sharlene appeared. Rachel did not throw her arms about her instantly.

Cass tried to get Nicole to call Drew. She was reluctant to hurt Drew's feelings. She told Cass she had to do it alone. He dialed for her. She told him not to hover.

A woman slipped an envelope under Scott's office door and ran away. He was unable to catch her. He was puzzled by the envelope's contents.

Sharlene goes by the name of Watts, her first husband's name. She and Rachel chatted. Rachel was surprised to hear that Jamie was back with Lisa. Sharlene is no longer in contact with Russ, her ex-husband. She told Rachel she'd like them to be friendly.

Cass became agitated when Nicole came downstairs in a different dress. She assured him it wasn't sinister. He insisted on staying, but in a different room. Drew arrived.

Michael played with Mikey. Donna came in, dressed suspiciously like Scott's mystery woman. [We'd had a glimpse of her midsection.] Michael turned Mikey over to Donna. Left alone, Donna told Mikey she was trying to find his parents. She gave him a pad of paper and a gold pen so he could draw. She gave him the phone to play with. He dropped it. Michael came down and suggested they go visit Clara and John. Donna refused to come along.

Scott showed Zack the envelope. It contained $5000 and an anonymous note, which said it was very important that Mikey's parents be found before Mikey became too attached to his foster parents. They'll have to give it to the police. Scott advised Zack to take a vacation. Julie Anne came by and revealed that it was Zack's birthday.

Sharlene and Rachel chatted. When Jason came in Sharlene scolded him for being ornery.

Cass eavesdropped while Nicole chatted politely with Drew. Nicole was so long getting to the point Cass burst in to help her along. She made him leave. He hovered just out of sight and coughed when she got too nice. Nicole wasn't getting anywhere so Cass resurfaced, determined to do it himself.

Zack and Julie Anne told Scott about their father's interest in their dates — when they have any, which isn't often enough.

Jason dragged Josie inside to introduce her to Rachel. Josie is not enamored of the farm. Michael and Mikey arrived. Josie liked Mikey. Jason went to round up John.

Chris told John she'd take a cut in salary if he'd let her work on the crew. They argued. When Jason turned up he refused to get involved. It was a mess.

With Cass standing right there Nicole was able to tell Drew she loved Cass and not him. He was very understanding. Cass was rather sweet [if not becomingly humble] in victory. When Drew left he [Drew] smiled in a sinister fashion.

Josie cuddled Mikey. She said she'd be happy to babysit. [Michael] said he'd call her if Bridget or Victoria let him down. Rachel said she'd tell Amanda and Sam she was available. She left. John and Chris came in. Introductions all around. Jason brought in a box of chicks to amuse Mikey. Mikey was amused. John and Chris were left alone with him while everyone else watched Jason on the tractor. The noise made John get strange.

Cass suggested Nicole come away with him for a celebration. She went to pack a bag.

Donna altered her voice to phone Scott and Zack to encourage them to find Mikey's parents. They have a PO Box if they want to get in touch with her. Michael caught her. She confessed all. Michael said he wasn't sure the best thing would be to find Mikey's parents. He wasn't happy that she had gone behind his back. He said she had to tell him the truth if she wanted their marriage to work.

Josie isn't used to living in a house with a man. She told Sharlene she had never missed not having a father.

Nicole went on ahead. Cass took a ring from his pocket and shined it before putting it away and locking up.
