ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 13, 1987

Scott and Cheryl bashed on Mrs. Markham's door and said they wanted to talk about Vince. She slammed the door in their faces.

Mary found the money missing from the kitchen at Mary's Place and was pleased that Vince had taken it.

Vince thought about Mary saying she knew he was innocent. The landlady came to yell at him.

Scott and Cheryl resumed their banging. Threats to call the police were exchanged. She let them in but denied knowing any McKinnons or recalling the night in question. They said Mrs. Lawrence had referred them to her.

The landlady is Mrs. Grimes. She yelled at Vince for having left the community phone off the hook. He promised he would do everything possible in future to prevent the phone being off the hook. She demanded next week's rent in advance. Vince looked into his empty wallet.

Ada burst Mary's bubble. She'd put the money away early in the morning. Peter phoned to tell Mary that Gomez had confessed to drugging Donna. He told her Reginald was paralyzed with grief. She told Ada she had to go out.

Rachel told Matthew she had to talk to him. Mac isn't around. Enter Jamie. Rachel decided to tell both of them that she loved Mac and things were over between her and Mitch. She assured Matthew he could see him. She left. Matthew was a little depressed. Jamie told him he was relieved. Matthew assured him he was too. Exit Matthew. Enter Mac. Jamie found out Mac didn't know.

Reginald is moving around hale and hearty. Peter offered to lighten his business load a little by taking on more responsibility. That Old Carrot told him he had to prove himself capable first. He treated him like an idiot child.

Vince looked at photographs and thought about his cozy home life all those years ago with Mary and his small daughters. [For some reason no child representing Ben nor any reference to Ben appeared.]

Jamie told Mac what he didn't know. Mac was not properly delighted since Rachel had told her sons but not her husband.

Ada told Rachel she'd made the right decision. Rachel phoned Tops to tell Felicia she would be late for lunch. She was a little disconcerted when she had to leave the message with Mitch.

Mitch was slightly uncivil to Peter. They had a mild argument about Peggy because of Brittany. [Peter objected to the fact that Brittany had been released on her own recognizance pending the appeal. Mitch said she had a baby to look after. How does that excuse it?] Before things got too heated Peggy arrived.

Mrs. Markham insisted she didn't know Vince and she hadn't seen anyone. Scott and Cheryl asked about the man who came by her house every night at about the same time. She tried to tell them he was her brother but it didn't wash. A man arrived and called her Tootsie before he thought. Scott asked them to testify on Vince's behalf in exchange for not being exposed. The lover ordered them out. Scott warned him they'd be back.

Peter thought about being at Tops after the trial. He told Peggy that he found her attractive. She admitted that she was glad his father was throwing them together. They discussed career women and marriage. He wants a partner, not a woman who will ride on his coattails. They touched on children and ambition. They have so much in common.

Mary cruised by the Love mansion full of concern for poor pathetic Reginald. He obliged her by putting on a great show of having been distraught until she arrived and brought sunshine into his life, etc. He convinced her to stay for a little while. He made Bridget fetch one of Mary's fur coats for her so they could go for a drive. Mary tried to get away but he pled. She stayed.

Rachel went home to talk to Mac. He told her he already knew because Jamie had told him. She suggested they go away for the weekend. He accused her of being insincere and left.

Reginald reminded Mary of a vacation they had spent in a castle in the Outer Hebrides. Very cold indeed. He told her he loved her.

Scott and Cheryl told Ada Mrs. Markham had been a dead end. Scott explained to Cheryl they didn't want word to get out and scare any potential witnesses. лучше молчать. They argued about Reginald. Cheryl told him that blackmailing Mrs. Markham and her lover would be wrong. He suggested offering a vast sum of money. She suggested asking Michael for money. Scott didn't like it. Cheryl stomped off threatening to ask him herself.

Mary made noises about leaving. Reginald was suddenly overcome with grief.

Peter told Peggy all about his father's wonderful plans for the slums he'd bought. Peggy told him anyone who could accomplish that had a shot at Mayor.

Rachel arrived at Tops.
