ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 13, 1985

Rachel and Nancy won't let Ada not be beautified with them. I'm so close Mac says Carl. If you only knew. He's making a phone call to assure that Rachel stays in alone.

Catlin's got a break in the middle of the exam. Sally was there to talk to him but Larry demanded that he talk to him. Catlin protested, for he desired speech with his fiancée but NOW said Larry. Graham wanted to listen in because his cadets are his concern. Larry let him (reluctantly). Now what do you know about this girl, Catlin? Catlin said her name was Willa Grover and he'd known her a long time ago and he hadn't seen her recently. Graham said that was a good thing for they would've had to deacademize him. (That's ridiculous. How can speaking to a criminal make him ineligible?) He said he hadn't seen her since Cheyenne. Graham wanted to know if she'd been picked up for soliciting (you see. He doesn't even know what's wrong with her and he wants Catlin smashed for it.) Larry said no she'd died of an apparent overdose. Graham left to look at Catlin's scores. Catlin returned to Sally. He's upset. He said she was young. Sally asked if he'd known her well and he said he had at one time. Larry asked if he'd been telling the truth about seeing her and Catlin said of course it was the TRUTH. He told Sally he had to talk to her and if she'd wait for twenty minutes he'd be out of the exam. She'll wait.

Marley went to Smiley's to meet Ben. He wasn't there so she consorted with Jake for a bit. Ben arrived. He passed the test and he's going to California. Next week. They're going to be separated for a while. Alas, alack. They'll keep in touch and miss each other. Ben had to get back to work. Marley cried. Jake was sympathetic.

Beautification. Ada's crotchety. She refuses to let anyone fool around with her feet.

Donna's on about Sandy's administrative talents. She wants Alice to help him along. Sandy doesn't want to be mollycoddled. Donna doesn't want to interfere. He wants to keep her distance. SAN-dy.

Grant stopped by the Hardings' to see Quinn. He and Tom got things straightened out. Tom left when Quinn surfaced. Grant called her grandma. He thinks they should talk about the wedding.

Sandy wants Alice and Joyce to tell him what they think should be done. INPUT. Donna apologized to him. She wants to take an interest in the hospital and they'll have to spend time together. Sandy thinks they understand each other.

Larry's awaiting a call from the Cheyenne police. He and MJ discussed kids messing up their lives. MJ left. Clarice arrived. Larry's busy. She wanted to see "That's Dancing" He's upset. He hopes it's just his imagination.

Catlin told Sally that he'd known Willa a while back and the police had found a picture of him with Willa on the body and they'd asked if he'd seen her. Sally asked what he'd told them. He told her the whole truth and said nobody'd seen them. She told him she had at Smiley's and it had looked like she'd known him pretty well. Catlin: You never said anything. Sally: Well I thought you would. Why wouldn't you tell me about something like that last night? Catlin: Because I was scared. I was scared of what you might think. She's part of my Past. My past when I was Josh Peterson. It's something I want to forget about. Sally: Honey, I know you had a whole life before we met. Catlin: There's not much I'm proud of in that life but Willa was from the worst part of it. Sally: Willa? Catlin: Willa Grover. I just want to forget about her. Forget about that whole time. And go on living with what we have. 'Cause I never dreamt that we'd have anything like we do. (Silence for a bit.) Sally: Why would you lie to Larry? Catlin told her he didn't know she was dead and Graham had said he'd be suspended etc. He said he'd talk to Larry. But he'd had to talk to her first to make sure she understood. Sally: Honey, I love you. Please don't let there be anything that we can't share. EVER. Catlin: Don't you ever leave me. Sally sounded like she'd thrown herself into his arms. He said Willa's been scared and in need of money. He said he'd talk to Larry and meet her at the cabin later.

Beautification. Mud packs I think. In the charge of M. Armand.

Catlin told Larry. Larry yelled at him because he knew. WHY DID YOU LIE?

Grant and Quinn are agreeable on the details. Grant's happy. Quinn said they made a mistake and she intends to guide them. Grant said they can't always protect them. They agreed to discuss advice before telling them.

Catlin said Willa was trouble and he'd just lied to avoid being deacademized. Larry told him off. Catlin lost his temper. Larry called Graham and made Catlin tell him. Graham told him he's suspended pending the investigation. Catlin's mad. Larry told him Graham'd been riding him for his own good to toughen him up etc. He says he did nothing wrong. Larry asked him why he'd lied then. Catlin wanted to explain Willa but Larry told him he'd need legal counselling and to get out.

The McKinnons can fund Ben's California. All Smiley's will miss him.

Marley told Donna about Ben. Donna's unhappy for Marley's sake. But she says Marley will get over him. I know darling I know.

Larry's sure Catlin's blown it. But Clarice got him to admit he still loves him.

Catlin returned to the cabin. He told Sally it's over and he'd never worked so hard for anything in his life. Sally tried to comfort him. He doesn't want to talk about it. He doesn't want to hurt her feelings but he needs to be alone. She'll be at home if he needs her. He called her back. Sally. I was wrong. I don't need to be alone. I need you. It sounds like she returned gladly.

Uncarded roses came. Must be from Mac says Rachel. Nancy loves New York. Ada and Nancy return home tomorrow because Rachel's meetings have been postponed. Carl: One more night. You'll be alone. ALL alone.
