Chris is moody. Not Spurgeon McPherson. Nancy thinks his suspension is crummy. He's lost without his doctoring.
Near car accident sounds. Michael pushed Victoria out of the path of a car.
Wally overheard Felicia canceling with the reverend and gave her what for for breaking Zane's heart but she told him to can the Eve Arden act [in Mildred Pierce she "was following Joan Crawford around and rolling her eyes to the heavens and always being right"] and explained she was merely toning down the decadent display. Cass asked what she do about the publicity. 300 guests, etc. Felicia realized it was a bit of a jam but she was certain she could get unstuck with their help. They were powerless to resist, although Cass did inform her that he was much better at planning than unplanning and if he had to cancel the flowers we'd be hearing "innocent man felled by crazed florist. Details at eleven." She complained that she was getting married any second and would be lost without them so they gave in.
Michael was surprised to hear Neal call Victoria Vicky. She explained she was Marley's twin sister and although he sounded dazed accepted it as sane and logical. She joked with Neal about having secret enemies. Neal seemed strange. She wants to go to dinner. She asked Michael if he were a friend of Marley's. He said not exactly.
Nancy suggested they pretend he has a real month off and take a vacation. [She first tried to make him promise he wouldn't think her dippy. He wouldn't [promise].] The bell rang and he said he'd know she was dippy if it was balloons. She said she'd never sent balloons so late at night. It wasn't balloons; It was Thomasina with something Awful to say. She has to testify at the hearing tomorrow. She thinks it's very serious, like, more than just hospital procedure, we're talking never more to leap again forever revoked license. Nancy told him to lie if he had to. Chris told Tom to tell the truth and said he wouldn't blame her. He says it isn't over yet.
Cass: now listen to me, please. The name of your rag — I mean, newspaper — is ROMANCE DIGEST. I know you know that. Shut up and listen to me, will you? I'm sorry. Now. Don't you realize how romantic this is? What this woman is doing is she's passing up the wedding of a lifetime for the man she loves. Did I tell you about her ring? Well if you had any SOUL at all you would understand what that story means. Of COURSE he could afford to buy her a ring, that's not the POINT. He wanted to do something more MEANINGFUL. Well — same to you lady. Enter Wallingford. Wally: this is like calling up people and telling them that their car has been towed. Cass: this is like calling up people and telling them they're going to be audited. Enter Felicia. Felicia: well I can't find him anywhere. Wally: Zane? Felicia: no, Lee. Cass: Lee? Wally: Liberace. Costco oh, GREAT. She gets to call LEE, and we have to deal with all the angry hordes. Felicia: now look. I really appreciate everything you've done. I could not do it without you. Cass: Felicia. These people aren't happy. They are calling us names. They are saying Bad Words. Zane called. Felicia told him she'd pared the wedding down some. He invited her to breakfast but she's too busy period it sounds like they had a fight about being incompatible but have now made it up.
Neal sounds like he thinks Vic's accident was not accidental. He ascertained that she hadn't seen the driver and passed on to other topics. She said she wanted to get to know him better. He may be taking this the wrong way.
Chris doesn't seem to bear the hospital a grudge but he doesn't know why he hasn't been summoned to his own hearing.
Neal interrogated Fayez as to where he'd been during the period in question. Fayez said M. Garbon had promoted him to Neal's equal and he didn't have to answer. M. Garbon* is not happy with Neal's work. Neal persisted in accusing him of driving recklessly. He warned him he'd get mad if any of his friends were hurt.
Jake dropped in on Vic. ["you know we're just thrilled by your little visits Jake even when they're this late at night ... I'm not sure how Marley is going to feel about it though so let's keep it our little secret."] He wanted to chat about Neal and jewels. She told him it was just an excuse for coming around. Vic: listen why don't you take off your jacket, I'm not going to tell anybody. Jake: some things never change, do they Vicky? Vic: I was hoping you'd say that. Jake: nothing is going to happen, Vicky. Vic: I wouldn't be too sure about that. Jake: that is unless you want to let Marley watch. She ordered him out.
Michael and Donna must part for the summer. She cried and said if she ever had children they wouldn't be afraid. She wanted four. The first a boy like Michael. She wanted them all to look like him. He said he felt sorry for the girls. She said she wanted to marry him. He said she'd meet some rich guy she liked better. Bridget interrupted him. He asked when Donna would be back but she doesn't know. Complications have set in in Switzerland. He asked if Donna had ever been married but Vic interrupted them. She was bitching to him until he explained he was the stableboy borrowing the phone. She told Bridget about the near fatal accident and stomped out. Bridget assured Michael Vic was very nice, really.
Rachel and Mac and the children carried on. Rachel sent the kids for hot chocolate. Nancy rushed in begging Mac to help Chris.
Zane summoned Wallingford to ask why he'd been told Wally had canceled the press coverage of the wedding. Wally explained about Felicia. Zane said he was just grumpy because it was his duty as the groom, not because he was violently opposed. He's impressed with Felicia's devotion to him but he wants the three ring circus back. He has to do it sneaky-like.
The Corys got up in arms. Mac decided Chris should have a lawyer and called Peter to find him one. We can't let our saviour be stomped on.
Michael arranged to meet Sherry [Cherie?] at Smiley's. Marley rushed up to him and thanked him for saving Victoria. She introduced Jake to him and told him about the Plains Motel. She's optimistic. She kissed Michael goodbye and fled covered in confusion. He wondered why he felt so close to her and about the existence of twins.
Felicia has managed to alienate a lot of people who don't matter. Cass is worried because she's such an extremist. He's afraid it will become a skeleton of a wedding and advised her to leave it a little flesh on its bones. She agreed. She wants Kathleen there. He's all for it.
Michael arranged a merger involving millions with Sherry's help. He then asked for a personal report on the Love family.
* Wouldn't it be blissful if M. Garbon were Carl?↩
