Cass arrived at the hospital looking for Felicia.
Rachel enlisted Quinn's help for some plot against Ada.
Nancy moved out. Victoria arrived at the apartment. Dee showed her Marley's stuff. Vic asked where Marley was. Dee said, "GUESS."
Marley is wrapped in Jake's embrace. She asked what had happened to his foot. He passed it off. She said she hadn't ever been able to reach him on the phone. Wallingford burst in to assure Jake he was safe from the Syndicate. He saw Marley, said "hi Marley." Marley asked what he meant like she meant business. Wally told her Jake wanted to do a documentary on the Mob. Jake shut him up. Wallingford told Marley he was to blame for everything. Jake told him it was all right. Wally left. Jake confessed to Marley. She got upset at him for not being honest with her. She asked for more lies to be confessed.
Rachel had Quinn offer Ada a disguised soft job.
Cass: I come here, you go there, I go there, you come here — why are you running away from me? Felicia: I'm not running away from anyone. Cass: let me see your hand. Felicia: what are you doing? Cass: where is it? Felicia: where's what? Cass: why are you trying to ruin my life? Felicia: ruin YOUR life? I happened to be the one that was driving YOUR getaway car when you were having YOUR poker game. Cass: what getaway car? Felicia: I — I had to move it. But I was only a couple of blocks away. Cass: what, was I supposed to take a cab to my getaway car? Felicia: wait, you don't seem to understand, the police — Cass: THIS IS NOT IMPORTANT. where's my ring? Felicia: oh, THAT. Why didn't you say so? Cass: and why did you buy it out from under me? Felicia: because you were MISSING, remember? And we wanted Kathleen to get it. Cass: oh. Felicia: yeah, OH. I'm on your side remember that. It's exquisite. Cass: thank you. It is, isn't it. So what do I owe you, what was it, $4,000 or something? Felicia: $12,000, thank you very much, PLUS TAX. Cass: you're going to charge me the tax? I thought I was your friend. Felicia: some FRIEND. He gave her all the money. He was not perturbed to hear no one was allowed to see Kathleen. He means to sneak in. Felicia assured him the changes at Lesoleil wouldn't affect his position.
It suddenly occured to Nancy that Felicia might have a job for her.
Marley told Jake the only difference between borrowing money from her and borrowing money from a loan shark was she wouldn't kill him if he didn't pay it back. She asked how she could trust him. He said he had done it all for her. He said he loved her and was shielding her from bad things. He apologized for being stupid and promised it wouldn't happen again. She said she got scared when she thought she couldn't trust him. She forgave him, but she said she had to have the truth.
Dee raved to Victoria about Chicago. She left. Victoria said she'd wait for Marley. Left alone she said, "what a shame. This wedding isn't even going to happen."
Quinn asked Ada to be a counselor for Frame-Harding. Ada went to Quinn's office to check it out.
Felicia told Nancy they had laid off too many people for her to hire her now. She suggested Smiley's. Felicia told her her first job had been in a brewery. Nancy couldn't object to waitressing.
Cass pretended to be a French doctor for the benefit of a German French-speaking nurse posted at Kathleen's door by the French specialist. He tried to be allowed to see Kathleen, saying he had permission from Kathleen's doctor. She let him past, then asked for identification. He came over all indignant and told her to ask the doctor. She said she would. Cass found Kathleen's door locked and collared Wallingford to help him get in by fouler means.
Ada found out that the union provided a successful counselor and refused to take a job.
Cass plans to get all tangled up in the air conditioning.
Jake dropped by the hospital with flowers for Kathleen. Vince gave him a hard time about the loan sharks and got apoplectic about his marrying Marley. [Blamed the loan sharks on her.] Trying to keep up with the Loves is not a good thing in Vince's book. Jake said he loved Marley. Vince apologized. He hinted at a bad Love/McKinnon past.
Nancy bitched to Neal about how awful waitressing would be. He told her he was working in the stables. He asked Maisie for her. Nancy: I thought maybe if you needed any extra waitresses — Maisie: honey, you see that sign in the window? What does it say? Nancy: detnaw pleh. Neal: help wanted. Maisie: I could use a team of waitresses. Nancy: I don't have any experience. Maisie: do you speak English? Nancy: YES. Maisie: have you got a good pair of sturdy legs? Neal: YES. Maisie: can you add? Nancy: sort of. Maisie: you're hired. She can start right away. She's on thrilled.
Cass crawled through a vent to Kathleen's room.
Ada yelled at Rachel for trying to help her. She has to set Nancy a good example.
Maisie trained Nancy in carrying a million plates at once. Victoria came in. Neal told her to order something. She ordered chef salad with a lot of ramifications. Jake came in for takeout with Marley. Neal told Victoria she had to accept the fact that Jake was marrying Marley. MAYBE she said.
Cass whispered nice loving things to Kathleen [she was asleep]. He slipped the ring on her finger and dashed into the closet as nurses were heard approaching.
Maisie let Nancy go home to change before the dinner rush. "You were brilliant," said Neal. Hissed she, "I HATE you." Nail drew parallels between Victoria and Nancy. Vic borrowed change for the phone. She called Chris to ask him to go to a movie with her. Going Dutch.
Nancy complained to Ada. Ada praised her. She told Rachel it would work.
Kathleen woke up and spied the ring. She said "how did this get here?" A voice emanating from the closet said "your fairy godmother." The German nurse came back, having heard voices.
