Vince was abstracted. Christmas holds little interest for him this year. Enter Mary. She reported that Cass thought Kathleen might be alive.
Scott dressed. Dawn slept. Chad dropped by and misinterpreted the situation.
Mac accused Amanda of having passed a restless night. He told her she was lovely and bright and tenacious and creative. He said college was a worthy option. She refused to consider it. He suggested some time off and a trip. She said she loved publishing. He asked her to work as his assistant and learn to run her own magazine. She was excited.
Chad yelled and woke Dawn. He fussed when he heard Dawn was sick. Scott wanted to take Dawn to the doctor. She refused. Chad supported Scott. Dawn was firm. Scott agreed to wait until the afternoon. Chad apologized for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Scott told him he really loved Dawn.
Vince thought Cass was building on nothing. Mary said Kathleen might not have been on the plane. Cass came in as Vince said it was too much to hope for. He said until someone could prove to him beyond all doubt that Kathleen was dead he would go on hoping.
