Ada tried to get her furniture out of storage. Miraculously, it was not lost.
Peter returned home.
Felicia went to the morgue to identify the body. It was Rocco. Zane told Felicia Cass had to be in hiding. No one told Vince. Wally told him Cass loved Kathleen. Joyce appeared and left a note from Kathleen for Cass.
Rachel doesn't want Ada to go. Ada said she needed her own place.
Bridget told Peter about Donna and Brittany's argument and Britt's visit to the doctor. Peter is going to chat with Donna after he sees Brittany.
Nancy was on the verge of telling Ada something when the police station called to ask if she were coming to work. The caller rang off abruptly when Ada said she was and she put it down to Larry's warped sense of humor. On with the confession. Nancy cried and apologized and said she loved her. Ada assured her things would be OK.
Donna visited Michael in his room. She asked if he were afraid of getting too close to her in the main house. He said he preferred the stables. Donna doesn't understand him. Peter appeared. Michael evaporated.
Even Zane encouraged Felicia to read the note. It was lovely and loving but not quite memorable. Felicia decided they should buy Kathleen's ring in order to make it seem as though Cass were alive and well and haunting the hospital. Wallingford assured her that Cass wouldn't let a silly thing like water stand in his way.
Peter told Donna to stay out of the West Wing. He doesn't want Brittany upset in case she loses the baby. Donna's fed up with that and patiently explained that the danger of miscarriage was past by the 5th month. She told him about the records. He said it was fabricated. She told him to ask Brittany. Michael returned. Peter left. Donna said she couldn't see what men saw in Brittany. Michael started to undress so he could shower. Donna protested. He told her she didn't have to stick around. I heard running water. Donna didn't move.
Ada was taken aside for a chat at work.
Brittany feigned innocence. She asked how she could be 5 months pregnant considering when they had made love. He informed her that there were other men in this world. She was pained and asked that he have more faith in his wife. He told her Donna had seen her records. She said it must be a mistake. He said [in effect] "what price Liz Matthews?" He shook her and asked [loudly] whether the baby was Catlin's. She began having Pains again. He was instantly concerned for the baby. She asked to be taken to the hospital very quickly. No sooner said than done. The doctor found her to be wildly healthy. In response to Peter's questions he told him that Brittany's first visit to Dr Levine [as you remember this is a different doctor who doesn't know these things] was January 22nd. [Quelle coïncidence, that was Michael's début.] Peter was actually moved to apologize. The wife forgave him.
The ring is impressive. [Zane said Kathleen could serve dinner for four on it.]
Mr. Quigley informed Ada that due to government cutbacks she was being Let Go. Larry objected on the grounds that she was the best counselor they had. Mr. Quigley said there was seniority to consider and the fact that Ada was Cory-supported. Ada groaned. She resigned herself to the inevitable.
Donna stuck around to help Michael unpack. He asked what she wanted to say to him. She bashed into him [in his towel] as he got the door for her on her way to help Brittany move out.
Nancy is taking the move rather hard. Ada appeared and told her daughters she had been fired. Nancy saw this as a reason not to move. Ada disagreed. She and Nancy can look for a job together. Nancy was appalled to hear the word waitress bandied about. She accused her mother of not loving her.
Father Malloy called Wallingford [who doesn't know him]. Vince is a jerk. The French doctor forbade Joyce to let Kathleen send any more notes. Vince is such a jerk. He demanded to know about the note. He read it and conceded that Kathleen loved Cass and had been operated on for his sake. Wallingford dashed up. Wally: Felicia, Zane. Vince: what did Father Malloy want? Wally: what? Vince: yeah, why did he phone you? Wally: oh, I forgot, he was returning my call. MJ: you called a PRIEST? Wally: yeah, I — heard about a bingo game. Felicia: why, Wallingford, you have no shame. Wally: true. Can I talk to you two? Felicia and Zane went willingly. Carter tried to make Vince like Cass better by explaining all about the loan sharks. Tom yelled at him. Carter said he'd done it for his best friend Jake and his dad's friends Cass and Wallingford. Tom forgave him but said if he ever did it again she'd kill him herself. Meanwhile Wally told the Lindquists that Cass had sought sanctuary with Father Molloy. They can't see him for fear of drawing attention to his hiding place.
Peter confronted Donna with Brittany's records. Donna apologized. Brittany forgave her. Peter gave her warning. Peter went to shower. Brittany: better learn to read, Donna. Donna: so. You're going to pass the brat off as my brother's child. Britt: it is his child. Says so. Right there. [Oh, delightful Lina. Quelle shimmering, glowing star in the cinema firmament.] Donna: well you win. [Exit Britt.] This time.
Ada is determined to move. She won't touch Gil's pension money. It's for Nancy. [She's not telling her in case she blows it on nail polish.]
Tom agrees to forgive Carter if he takes her to a French film she wants to see.
Vince told MJ he knew where Cass was hiding and stomped out to retrieve him for Katie.
