ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 7, 1985

Kathleen is somewhere strange discussing Cass with some strange man. He doesn't know she's madly in love with the man and is merely speculating from the book. She isn't letting on.

Dee sounds like she's being attacked. "I ain't afraid of you," she said desperately.

Cass is in agonies because Dee's missing. Her purse was found down by the waterfront but nothing else. He's afraid she committed suicide because of what he said to her last night. Felicia is comforting him. Wallingford appeared bearing presumably bad tidings.

Jake found Victoria had a Plains Motel matchbook and exploded.

Marley's trying to write to Ben. "Dear Ben why did you have to be such a creep." Nancy appeared and asked why she'd cut her last night so blatantly. Marley's confused. She proffered her alibi--dinner at home with Jake. Bridget heard Nancy say how weird that girl LOOKED JUST LIKE MARLEY and bustled off. Marley told Nancy about her letter. Nancy told her she shouldn't write back. Marley's confused. She told Nancy Jake had tried to kiss her but before she could decide whether she wanted him to or not he changed his mind. Nancy was astounded and sympathetic. She suggested Jake could be shy but Marley severely doubts that. She's so confused about him. They talked again about Marley's double on the way out [doubtless in Bridget's hearing].

Victoria exploded right back. He said he was just trying to help. She asked about dinner with Marley. She craves details. He told her about Ben's letter. She has to know how to react. They're both weird. She can't do this without him.

Wallingford said none of his friends had seen Dee but it's a rough area. Someone came to the door [Dee or Tony?].

Bridget tried to make a phone call but Donna interrupted her. She has a meeting at the Northwoods Inn at 11 a m. Bridget got back on the phone. Line's busy. Out she went.

Victoria told Jake she'd just hang around her room but I think she went out.

'Twas Dee. She told a story of how she'd escaped from a potential rapist with a knife by jumping into the bay in the darkness. Everyone's concerned about her and pleased. They want her to talk with Cass alone. He told her his suicide fears. She laughed at his immense ego. He was slightly disconcerted. She said it had been like a fairy tale but it was over and the book is now closed on Cass. She said he was too old for her and they laughed.

Kathleen seems hung over. MJ is asking about Cass. She said she was a very independent woman in her career and so on but in her relationships with men she was a sap. Kathleen told her about their fight. She'd bared her soul to him about Alan in New York and he'd thrown it in her face. MJ said it was his lawyerishness that made him do it not spite. Kathleen said she was never going to drink again or fight with or see Cass. MJ said Cass cared about her as much as he could. Kathleen said she'd show Cass and go back to New York and SUCCEED and not be scared. ["If I don't die first."] She left. Jamie stopped by. MJ told him about Kathleen's hangover [she'd gone to the Plains Motel]. Jamie said perhaps MJ was too involved in her sister's problems and she should concentrate on him. MJ said he was right and she'd butt out even though Kathleen had just announced her intention to quit Brava and return to New York. Jamie objected to this. MJ told him Kathleen thought highly of him ...

Marley's letter to Ben. Saying she should've known and it was all right and Jake was very nice ... IT COULD HAVE BEEN VIC. READING IT.

Bridget talked to Jake and said she hoped Nancy thought it was just coincidence. Nancy's nearsighted it seems. They hope Victoria's learned her lesson. They think Marley trusts them. Bridget says Marley mustn't get to like him too much. Suddenly the voices got strange, like we were somewhere else listening in on the conversation ... MARLEY? O they're at Jake's room but Marley could be at work. OH IT WAS PERRY. He mused aloud.

Jamie and Kathleen had a private chat. He said she had a contract. He told her Mac liked her work and approved the risk. He talked her round.

Dee's been put to bed at Felicia's. Cass told Felicia what Dee had said. She told him to call Kathleen and apologize for being such an ass. He got defensive so she asked him to be on her show next week. He said he didn't think he should. [It is Peter's idea and he's not thrilled.] She pleaded but he wants to be somebody BIGGER than Brava and her show. Tact is the order of the day. She got mad. She'll find someone else. She left.

Wallingford's having lunch with MJ. She wants information about the Plains Motel. She thinks it's a front for a drug ring. He doesn't like to see drugs sold to kids.

Donna's annoyed that the man she is supposed to meet wasn't able to come. She had an icy chat with Felicia.

Victoria's practicing being Marley. Bridget happened upon her and took her for Marley. Victoria's trying to get away with it.

Nancy told Perry about Ben's letter and the alibi. Perry told her about AN OLD WOMAN WITH A SCOTTISH ACCENT COMING OUT OF JAKE'S ROOM.

Bridget wasn't fooled for an instant. Victoria's scared. Hysterical. Bridget told her she had to leave someone might come. Victoria sobbed she'd die if this wasn't pulled off. Bridget said she'd make her tea.

Felicia asked Donna to be on her show hospitalizing. Donna was weird about Carl. She won't. [Felicia lived with him for a bit.] Donna went home.

Cass called Phil to see if he'd been trying to reach him to be on his show [this is BIGGER than Felicia's show ... he'd been raving about JOHNNY and PHIL to her.] He's not.

Perry's suspicious. He said the woman had said that in a little while they'd be exactly where they wanted to be. Nancy said 'twas Bridget the Loves' new housekeeper. They called Marley over.

Victoria wants scones. [they all use a long o.] Donna appeared wondering why Marley was home from school so early.
