Rachel drove Nancy crazy coddling her. Mac and Rachel chatted with her about the attack. Tony arrived. Nancy cheered up. Tony showed Mac something. Mac asked if the police knew.
Adam was surprised when MJ said she'd been investigating Linda Lee's book.
Chad bugged Cheryl about modeling. He told her to call him. Scott snubbed her. He noticed she wasn't wearing his ring. [Yesterday she said the fact that she hadn't returned it proved she hadn't given up.] Scott is the second biggest suck in the world. They argued. He claimed this had nothing to do with their [not] sleeping together. She said she'd taken off the ring because she didn't want to be ringed by a person who expected her to make a commitment for which she was not ready. Nicole bounded in and invited them to Michael and Donna's wedding.
Tony had found a note at Brava giving the name and address of a man who had been bragging about being the serial killer. [Darryl Lappa, or something.] Mac told him to work with Adam. Tony refused. Mac got on the phone.
MJ was forced to admit she didn't have much. Capt Delaney said they should find Linda's pimp. He threw everyone out so he could talk to Adam. He showed Adam a nasty editorial and said he was going to give them his [Adam's] head. [And I thought Adam was everyone's favorite cop.]
Mac was told Adam was busy. He dragged Tony down to the station house. Rachel made small talk to Nancy to take her mind off the attack. Nancy described their wonderful sex life in glowing terms. Julie dropped by with flowers. Rachel left. Julie removed her coat and Nancy freaked out. She told her she was Asking For It if she went out dressed in a leotard.
Trish bugged Chad. No one told Nicole Scott and Cheryl were on the outs. Nicole tried to be friendly — no, sisterly — to Scott. He refused to be part of the family but agreed to be friendly. Chad assured Cheryl he was serious about the modeling. She had an attack of modesty. Enter MJ. He gave her his card and said they'd get a portfolio together for her. He said he was going to the post office and left. MJ told Cheryl gently that modeling might not be the best idea.
Captain Delaney told Adam he'd make him the scapegoat but he'd be redeemed when he caught the killer. He offered him a task force of ten men. Adam felt it was too few.
MJ hid and watched Chad take a package from a PO box.
Cheryl and Julie got the gory details of the attack from Nancy. [They were especially interested to hear whether she had been raped.]
Tony told Adam he had gone to see Darryl Lappa. Adam yelled at him for being stupid. Mac said since they hated each other so much they'd try to outsmart each other and wind up outsmarting the killer. RIGHT. Adam suspects Tony of writing the note himself.
Chad went home.
Felicia: let's not call it a shower. Nicole: well what shall we call it? Felicia: I don't know, let's call it a rain storm, or a MONSOON. [I like that.] Wallingford said he and Adam had the bachelor party all planned. Rachel arrived. Chad arrived looking for tape for a repair job.
MJ let herself into Chad's room and hid in the closet. He returned and straight away made for the shower. [!!!] He was interrupted by a prostitute's arrival. She bugged him because he hasn't been sleeping with her lately. He let on his time was taken up with his old best baby. He got rid of her very paternally and leaped for the shower.
Trish got on Cheryl's nerves. She told her she was dreaming if she thought she could compete with real models. Enter Scott. Cheryl rushed to his side to talk about whether she should go to the wedding. They argued pointlessly.
Adam sent for Lappa. He's a nut with a record. Tony and Mac are terrible nuisances.
Rachel said they could hold Donna's monsoon at her house. Chad cruised through. Wallingford asked him to rent them a belly dancer for Michael's bachelor party. Chad agreed and told the prostitute to come down to his room in a few minutes. [I forgot — while Chad was in the shower MJ smelled his clothes in the closet and then crept out and stole Linda's book which Chad had left on the bed. When Chad came out he found it missing.] She got the feeling he was mad at her. He said he was mad enough to kill her.
Tony returned to Nancy's side. Julie got up to go. Nancy apologized for freaking out about the leotard but said she didn't think she should call attention to herself. Julie agreed and left. Tony comforted Nancy.
Chad strip searched Millie the prostitute but didn't find Linda's book. He got an idea and called Mary's Place and asked for MJ. Cheryl told him she'd just walked in. He told MJ he knew she had the book. She said she didn't know what he was talking about. He said he thought he had the advantage and made vague threats.
Trish cozied up to Scott and reminded him of St Tropez. Cheryl let her know she would rather she left. Trish put her down for being rude. Scott took Cheryl aside and told her to be civil to Trish. Cheryl said bad things about Trish. Scott wasn't thrilled.
Felicia visited with Nancy. Mac and Rachel suggested Nancy come home with them. Nancy insisted on staying with Tony.
The killer thought about the attack on Nancy. His mother's voice admonished him for having naughty feelings. He used a set of letter stamps to stamp a wicked note. Mother told him he was a good boy.
