Mac was stunned. He snatched the file from Liz' hand. He decided to demand an explanation and sent for Sam.
Nicole struggled with her reason. Cass told her Felicia and Wally would be looking for the guy who'd seen him steal the motorcycle. Proof.
Mitch was furious with Felicia. Wally came up and told him about the bracelet and photos. Felicia and Mitch looked at each other. She said it must be a mistake or not Cass. Mitch suggested there had been incriminating evidence in the photos. Felicia said Cass needed time to prove his innocence. Mitch said she should tell Adam. He said he wouldn't let her get involved and left. Felicia was upset. She told Wally about the imposture. Wally was incredulous. Why would anyone want to impersonate Cass? But if Felicia believes, Wally believes. Felicia told him about the motorcycle alibi. Wally went to check it out.
Cass considered letting Nicole go.
Mac ranted and raved. Rachel found him at it. She felt guilty.
A police officer waited for John in Tops. Wally reported that he'd heard a motorcycle rumour in a bar. Felicia staked him bribe money. Wally saw John and tried to rush him out but the cop arrested him for narcotics smuggling. Wally was puzzled.
Mitch dropped by Adam's office to ask for protection for Felicia. Adam agreed. He sent Val to bring her in.
Cass earned out his teeny tiny window. He told Nicole he couldn't let her go until she thought of something unCasslike about Rex. He exposed the life-saving thing as a ploy. He spotted a lurking truck.
Rex wore a furtive turtleneck and watched a man move laundry.
Rachel confessed she knew Sam and Mitch were half brothers. They argued about whether Mac would have hired the so talented Sam if he'd known. Mac deplores the lie, not the relationship. He accused her of being protective of Sam for Mitch's sake.
John yelled at Adam. Adam explained he had been arrested to keep his cover. John was incensed. No more. Enter Felicia. Exit John in a temper. Felicia was forced to admit Cass had called. She explained about the imposture. As soon as she said Rex Allingham he sent Val to investigate him. Only think of the watch. Enter Wally with the name of Cass' alibi [witness]. Adam agreed to bring him in.
Vince gave Diane lunch at her request. She tried to get him to tell her about Thanksgiving with Mary. She's oddly self centred. She proposed again. He said he wasn't good at marriage.
Nicole asked Cass to let her leave. Suddenly the door slid open and there stood Rex. Nicole gaped. He moved toward an inside pocket. Cass flung Nicole out of the way. A fight broke out. Rex got Cass down and kicked him; Nicole swung the security Cam at Rex and, embarrassingly, missed. He pulled a gun and trapped her, sobbing, on the couch. Cass saved the day [or not], stunning Rex as he was about to pull the trigger. Nicole survived. Rex scrambled out the door. Cass pursued him, having instructed Nicole to go to the police. Her gown has ugly fringes.
Diane declared herself unhappy in the present relationship. She tried to prove that Mary was the flaw in his marriage. He ran screaming in the other direction.
Rachel stood up for Sam because of his talent. She and Mac quarreled. He accused her of reverting to her former bad behaviour. He decided to go and light into Sam. He decreed that Amanda should fall out of love with him. Rachel pointed out that Amanda was lying her head off, too. Mac was stubbornly set against Mitch and Sam. He left.
Val brought in Frank* Collins, witness extraordinaire. The uncooperative Mr. Collins refused to identify Cass until Adam started chatting about crap games and probation officers. Then he got very helpfully specific. Felicia thanked him profusely. Exit Frank. Adam was dubious. He asked what about Nicole and why hadn't Cass turned himself in.
Nicole found Cass trying to hotwire a car. She insisted on sticking with him.
Rachel thought about arguing with Felicia about Sam. Enter Liz. She felt responsible. Rachel was resigned.
Adam put out an APB on Rex, too. Felicia fretted lest someone shoot at Cass. Mitch came by. Felicia endeavoured to remain aloof. Adam corroborated her imposture story. Mitch, following the pattern, was incredulous. Adam kicked them out, having elicited Felicia's promise to tell him if Cass called. Felicia refused to listen to Mitch. Wally made sure he went after her.
Cass considered going to the country inn to look for Rex. A cop appeared and placed Cass or Rex under arrest. He wasn't fussy. [can he do that?]
* Editor's modern note: I wrote the name as Frank originally but when I look at this episode online on YouTube now it sounds more like Art to me.↩
