Alice is releasing Rachel. Rachel's apprehensive about returning home.
Felicia invited Kathleen to dinner -- just the two of them. Kathleen guessed Cass would be there and refused.
Mr. Hennessy's coming to Cass' to give Dee his approval and his avuncular-ness. Cass said enthusiastically he and Dee really could be from the same family.
Donna has grown tired of the French accent and is now using an unidentifiable one in her attempts to confuse the world. Jake hung up when he had ascertained that she was indeed at home.
Rachel sort of apologized for being difficult. She asked Alice about her house. Alice told her it was a mansion. Acres and acres and gardens and things. Mac's first wedding present to her. Rachel's thinking about meeting her children.
Mac explained to the children that Rachel was a little confused so they had to make sure she knew they loved her.
Dee wants to get to know about the Hennessys for the interview. She asked the man about his wife and children. ("Noreen and I weren't blessed . . . we have a dog.") He mentioned his family. He doesn't seem to be on speaking terms with any of them. Dee is to be his dead sister Belinda's daughter. Mr. Hennessy has an all-night poker game to attend so he'll be on his way. He signed the letter of recommendation. Cass yelped and leaped and there was much rejoicing in the penthouse. Dee asked if she could go out unchaperoned to celebrate. Her request was granted. Further rejoicing.
Felicia insisted that Kathleen and Cass talk. Kathleen was adamant in saying it was over. Bridget came in and Felicia left threatening to return if Kathleen didn't get her act together. Bridget told Kathleen not to give up hope. Jake arrived to mooch food which Kathleen gave him fairly readily. He asked about KBAY but she hasn't got around to it yet. She left. Jake told Bridget Donna's back. She's a key bit of their plan. Bridget told Jake to get Marley's signature. It's won't be long now.
Marley's glad Donna's back. Her trip to Chicago was unsuccessful. She won't give up. Marley told her Peter's not going to be back until after the wedding. Donna intends to concentrate on the hospital. ("There's nothing wrong with helping the sick and turning a profit at the same time.") The hospital called to tell Donna Alice had been spending money like it was going out of style. DESPICABLE WOMAN. This time she's gone too far.
Rachel was surprised by what Mac told her was her favourite dress. Much to his perturbation she wants to go on a shopping spree with Phyllis? Philippa? Felicia. They're going home. She's still funny about meeting the children for the first time.
Cass is brooding ostensibly about Dee's interview but according to Lily Kathleen. He told her they'd broken up for good. The poor dear sounded depressed but he maintained he could forget about Kathleen McKinnon like that.
Kathleen has set up an interview for Jake with Jamie's help. He was appreciative. She left. She met Dee in the doorway. Dee told her about the recommendation. Kathleen told her that Cass would only wind up hurting her.
Donna was surprised to find Rachel out of bed. She hadn't heard about the amnesia and she was surprised to find Rachel didn't know her or Carl. Donna told her that the two of them were of one social standing with sisters preparing for the cotillion. Donna was appalled to hear that Rachel had recommended Dee and liked Cass. Mac appeared to take Rachel away. Donna pounced on him and asked if Sandy had reconsidered but Mac told her both younger Corys were stopping on in San Francisco forever and ever amen. Donna was distraught but Mac said it was for the best and took Rachel into the elevator. Rachel said (loudly enough for Donna to hear) "She sees quite a snob. Was I like that?" (You know, I'd like to see Rachel at the wedding if it's disrupted behaving like one of those elderly partially deaf folk asking questions in a louder-than-decent voice. "What's going on? I thought he was going to marry THAT (pointing to Sally with her umbrella if possible) girl." She is also (it seems to me) in an ideal position to say a few home truths about these numerous marital messes.) Donna confronted Alice. Alice said it was a necessary piece of equipment. Donna said it was too expensive. She said she was to be consulted regarding any major decisions. Alice told her not to be too high-and-mighty or everyone would desert her.
Kathleen told Dee she'd seen them together. Dee said Cass was something. Kathleen wished her luck at the cotillion. Dee said she liked her and she was glad there were no hard feelings. Kathleen left.
Donna and Joyce are both involved with the deaf. (Oooh. BRITTANY.) Donna was upset to hear about the drug theft (oh good god it just hit me Catlin's working for Donna again. How APPALLING.) She fears publicity. The staff is being questioned. Donna feels the world is crumbling about her.
Dee left Smiley's. Jake got Marley's signature.
Rachel's impressed by the house. She met her children. They're going to check out the stables.
Dee gave Cass her sketch all framed. He was pleased. Lily was impressed. Cass is going to take Dee out to dinner to practise eating. At the Northwoods Inn. It's a date he said.
Donna went down to her room to feel sorry for herself. She clutched her photo album and the doll. She noticed the thing Jake had broken and got upset. SOMEBODY'S BEEN IN MY ROOM.
Dee wrote in her diary about loving Cass more every day and they would have a romantic date just the two of them with Kathleen out of the way.
Rachel's squeamish so Mac's sleeping in the guest room. He says he understands but he sounds fairly devastated. She had to be told where their room was.
