Lily wants Perry to buy Tallboys with her (and I think instate Grant as chef). She's trying to borrow money from Felicia. She doesn't want Grant to know she's the owner. Felicia disapproves. But she's going to give her the money.
Cass wants to wait for Cecile to call. Kathleen is still raving about the monster he let her go out with. She says he has to give her half his stock in the company or the IRS will get nasty. Cass called her deluded.
Catlin won't let Sally stay with him while he tries to find a place to hide the horse. She said she could help look ("I have eyes too, you know." He said she had gorgeous eyes but she refused to let him change the subject.) She said she'd stay with him. He said they would make too much noise. She said she'd go in the other direction. He said women alone attract attention. (Ha! The way to Sally's heart is through her stomach. When Catlin promised to look for food on the way back she agreed to stay behind. These people.) He said how much he hated leaving her and promised not to be long. Sally is afraid he won't come back. (You better come back to me, she said.)
Emily came to see Marley. She made small talk with Carl.
Catlin came back. Catlin: Sally. Look at this. Sally: It's -- a duck. Catlin: Of course it's a duck. He raved a bit about how hungry they were and so on until: Sally: (really pitifully) Oh Catlin, you can't kill him. Catlin: Why not? Sally: Well -- because he's so little, and soft.
Wallingford was pleased to meet Lily. He said he had confidential stuff to tell Felicia (and proceeded to tell Lily all about it). He said he couldn't drive and he wanted to go to Bates'. Lily agreed to give him a ride (besides, she wanted to see the place where Felicia spent the night in the gorilla's cage.)
Emily left. Donna said that Emily was such a dedicated girl -- probably the only one of her family who ever made good. Marley pressed to have Ben over for dinner.
Catlin was made to promise not to kill the duck. (He used the word dilapidated today. His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds.) He said he wouldn't do anything to make her unhappy. She's afraid he'll be killed in his plot to find out where those men are from.
Lily and Wallingford gave Bates' place a going over. Wallingford picks locks. Lily is a bit worried. (Wallingford is relating the death toll.) They found a recipe. The prune pudding one I think.
Cass was shocked and appalled because Kathleen's lawyer already had the necessary papers drawn up. Kathleen said she fell in love with a man at her old firm. He promoted her no end and she was good. The man she loved then went to Europe (with his wife and children). They then drove her out of the company. (Nebulous they. Not the wife and children.)
Marley wants Donna to admit she was wrong about Ben. Donna is busy busy busy. Marley invited Ben over for the afternoon.
Kathleen asked Felicia for the money to pay the IRS. Felicia had given all her money to Lily. Cass keeps saying Kathleen is like Cecile in many ways. It's driving her up the wall.
Carl wants the horse desperately. He says he doesn't care what they do to Catlin and Sally just as long as the horse is returned in good condition.
Catlin told Sally not to argue with him. She promised to do as he'd told her. (She then talked to the duck until Catlin grew impatient. "Sally," he said. Sally: Aren't you going to say goodbye to the duck? Catlin: goodbye, duck.) (Catlin hates the duck almost worse than Wallingford.)
Carl wants Hildy to keep an eye on Donna. He told Donna they mustn't have secrets from each other.
Felicia and Lily followed the recipe. They put rather A LOT of whiskey in it.
Strange music. Horses' hooves. Evidently Catlin and Sally riding. Sally still wants to stay with Catlin. (Catlin: Your safety comes first so you're going back into town. Sally: No, I'm not. Catlin: Sally, you promised you wouldn't argue with me. Sally: Well, I lied.) He told her to go into town and call home. He kissed her and they went their separate ways.
Lily and Felicia polished off the mess. it turned out to be a laxative. For horses.
Cass is in debt. He owes the Tuna, too. Cecile called. She asked for his help.
Catlin sounded pretty bloodthirsty when he was talking about killing and roasting the duck. Actually he didn't mention killing it so I was under the impression that it was already dead until Sally said he couldn't kill it. I think Catlin would be fairly damp after catching a duck. He didn't slosh but that doesn't prove anything.
I get the feeling that Felicia and Lily's mess is like I imagine the plum pudding atom to be: gross. Sally talking to the duck was a little hard to take.
