There was a mixup over the champagne for Adam and MJ's reception. Felicia was upset. Mitch made her feel better. Lisa came up. Felicia attacked her. Lisa fought her off and refused to talk.
Cheryl rabbited on about the wedding to Chad. Then she apologised but suggested it might be easier for him once Adam and MJ were married. Sara came up after she left and told Chad she wished MJ would leave him alone. (Wrong. End. Of. The. Stick.)
Adam and Jamie looked through Adam's mail. Adam did not know what to make of the unmarked video tape.
MJ trembled as she held her copy of the tape, locked her bedroom door, and put it in the VCR. She broke down and sobbed as she watched it. She tore it from the machine and ripped it apart.
Sara told Chad he couldn't blame himself for whatever mistake MJ had made to get herself on video. Chad didn't really explain. Sara stomped out. Joe wandered over and introduced himself to Chad.
Adam guessed it was the press coverage from the stalker case for his address at the university. Jamie was all for watching the tape but Adam said they'd watch it later. Jamie: Oh, research. Won't that get in way of all the hero worship? Adam: Cousin, is there something you want to get off your chest? Jamie: Well, this here says the mayor's giving you a medal for your work on the stalker case. Adam: That's just a bunch of hype. I don't understand why everybody makes such a big deal out of this. Jamie: Maybe it all goes back to when we were playing COPS AND ROBBERS as kids. Adam: Well, we're all grown up now, aren't we, Jamie? Jamie: Some things never change. (They stay the way they are. Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.) You used to arrest me and lock me in the garage even then. Adam told him he couldn't go around killing people just because they deserved it. Adam said he could have killed Gollum very easily on the island, but he hadn't because it would have been wrong. Jamie was peeved about being locked up. They get along. (You know, I kind of like Jamie as an offensive cousin. Like Kathleen and MJ in the good old days, almost. But as a ro-man-tic hero he fails to thrill.)
Felicia worried about Lisa. Mitch and Felicia complained about their lack of free time alone together. Kissing. Enter Matthew, who seemed quite appalled. ("Whoa," he cried, eyes narrowing.) Mitch took him aside for a talk. Jamie came up to ask for Felicia's help.
Chad told Joe to tell the Agent to leave MJ alone. He promised he'd get more money. Joe said the Agent would appreciate his being a pimp again.
MJ hid the remains of the tape when Sara knocked on her door. Sara wanted to talk about Chad. MJ found out Sara didn't know much. Sara asked MJ to let Chad go. MJ's expression conveyed 'Wrong. End. Of. The. Stick.' MJ told Sara she could have Chad because she wanted Adam. Sara asked why she took her troubles to Chad in that case. MJ said she had no choice. Sara stared at her incredulously. She told her she had to tell Adam. MJ cried and said Adam loved her. Sara told her to leave Chad alone and left.
Mitch explained to Matthew what was going on. Matthew wanted to talk marriage. Mitch had absolutely no thoughts on the subject. Rachel advised Jamie to let up on Lisa.
Felicia startled Lisa trying to write in her journal. Lisa said she'd like to talk but she couldn't yet. Felicia was pleased. She went to change. Lisa went over the rape.
MJ showed up all tear-stained at Adam's door. He didn't want to let her in because of a surprise but she was so miserable he opened the door. She saw all of his stuff in boxes and in disarray and said, "You're moving?" He put on a straight face and said, "MJ, I'm leaving you," which statement really distressed her. He was alarmed and comforted her, saying it was only a joke. He explained he was making room for her. She said she loved him and hugged him tightly. (Probably convulsively. One hears the phrase a lot, and I guess this is it.) He smiled and brought her in because she looked like to fall apart. She said nothing was wrong.
BORK INTERFERENCE.
Somehow MJ got to Mary's Place, where Chad told her in a whisper that his car was all packed and the only way was for them to run away. MJ told him she wasn't going anywhere with him. Chad warned her the Agent would use her to get him to be a pimp again. He begged her to come with him. She stared at him. She said she had to see Adam.
Rachel assured Matthew that Felicia was welcome to Mitch. They talked about Amanda's extravagance. Matthew seems to like it. They left. Felicia brought Lisa up to see Jamie. Then she missed Mitch. She found he wasn't in his room and he hadn't left the building. Lisa convinced Jamie she needed time. He suggested they go out onto the roof. They held hands. Felicia went to her room to put a hex on Mitch.
There were a lot of candles in Felicia's room. Mitch had planned a surprise, see. Dinner and a fire and things. She's too busy with the wedding to go to Alaska. Kissing.
MJ said she knew this would hurt Adam but she was sure they could survive it. Chad said he wanted to be there when she told him. MJ said he couldn't be. He said he loved her and always would, even knowing about her past. (I'm sure there's a flaw in that argument somewhere.) She left. Chad watched her through the window.
