I try to get a canoe trip in every spring. The best time to go is before the Victoria day long weekend because it
generally avoids both the anoyances of crowds and biting insects. Although we managed to avoid crowds of humans,
the unseasonably warm spring this year brought the black flies out early.
Rob and I did a similar route to the one planned
in 2001 for Wendy and I. We avoided getting lost, and also took a rest day in the middle, which allowed us to
easily complete the journey in seven days.
