Bowman Family Saskatchewan Trip - June 19-30, 2026

June 28: Return to Saskatoon

It was time to say goodbye to our Air B&B in Eastend, which had served us well for 6 nights. We headed for Saskatchewan River Landing, stopping to check out a few ponds and reservoirs along the way.

The broad South Saskatchewan was full of waves due to the steady winds – not conducive for bird observation on the water. But we did pause at a Purple Martin House that was occupied.

The next stop was the Gardiner Dam where we had a snack and a chance to see several Ospreys fishing and some mating. There is also a large colony of American White Pelicans there. We saw our final Upland Sandpiper of the trip – there had been many!

There were still a few ponds and reservoir to check out for ducks and grebes. At one point, a Red Fox with prey in its’ mouth, ran right alongside the car.

We returned to Craig and Pamela’s house and relaxed.
