Bowman Family Saskatchewan Trip - June 19-30, 2026
June 28: Return to Saskatoon

It was time to say goodbye to our Air
B&B in Eastend, which had served us well for 6 nights. We
headed for Saskatchewan River Landing, stopping to check out a
few ponds and reservoirs along the way.
The broad South Saskatchewan was full of waves due to the steady
winds not conducive for bird observation on the water. But
we did pause at a Purple Martin House that was occupied.
The next stop was the Gardiner Dam where we had a snack and a
chance to see several Ospreys fishing and some mating. There is
also a large colony of American White Pelicans there. We saw our
final Upland Sandpiper of the trip there had been many!
There were still a few ponds and reservoir to check out for ducks
and grebes. At one point, a Red Fox with prey in its mouth,
ran right alongside the car.
We returned to Craig and Pamelas house and relaxed.
