Bowman Family Saskatchewan Trip - June 19-30, 2026

June 29: Around Saskatoon

We knew that we would have to be up at 4:30 the next day for our flight. So, a short day of birding was in order.

There had been photos posted of a Badger at Northeast Swale, so we decided to go there first. A little research would have shown us that Badgers are largely nocturnal, so our chances of seeing one were slim.

There were coots and ducks in all the ponds around town. We kept hearing a Sedge Wren and Bill hiked through the long grass and tracked it down.

We visited several ponds and saw a Pied-billed Grebe and a baby coot.

We stopped at Fable Ice Cream shop and had to dash through a sudden downpour. Then it was back to Craig & Pamela’s.

As promised, Allie prepared a scrumptious meal for us of marinated pork tacos, all homemade. It was delicious
