Robertson Lake Day Trip

September 30, 2021

With a fairly nice day, we made a quick decision to go for a day trip. Robertson Lake, one of the Lanark County routes, is just over an hour away. When we arrived at the put in, the cool wind was rising, so we decided to have our lunch first and hope that it would warm up and that the wind would drop. This did happen, so we paddled off, hugging the westerly shore.

We retraced our route home on Road 16, and stopped to look at the Clyde River near Hopetown. Barbara immediately spotted a trio of River Otters which quickly swam downstream under the bridge.

We also made a slight detour at Middleville to check out the Gallbraith Bridge on the Indian River where it flows into Clayton Lake. It reminded us our our pleasant day outing there last year. We saw a Great Blue Heron and a skulking Song Sparrow.
