On June 18, 1999, we - Laurie-Ann Zachar and Tony - were married. The wedding was at Glen Cairn United Church, Ottawa.

We live in Ottawa, Ontario, though for most of Tony's time in Canada he lived in Kanata, Ontario. On Jan 1, 2001 Kanata was officially amalgamated within the city of Ottawa.

In May 2000 we vacationed in UK and Laurie-Ann met Tony's family for the first time. During the trip we went with my mother to Holy Trinity, Brompton, the source of the Alpha Course. We also visited Tony's sisters Dianne in Kingston and Denise in Scotland, and his son James and daughter-in-law Kathy in Lyneham. See some of our holiday photos.

In 2008, Tony finally started on a project he had planned for years: making the home movies available for family and friends to see.

Here are memories of our recent holidays

      Some significant family events

On 17 November 2017, Laurie-Ann and Tony left Canada for South Africa on a mission to children and the poor in the townships of Worcester, Western Cape. See their mission site and many photos. They returned to Canada arriving 19 January 2022.
On 25 May 2016, Laurie-Ann and Tony went to Mozambique, and then to South Africa on the Iris Harvest School missionary Training. See photos, video 1, video 2, video 3, video 4.
On 29 February 2016, Tony retired from Investors Group, but continued working part time as assistant to Cindy Yendt for a year.
On 11 January 2015: Joan Wood, my mother, died. See photos from her funeral 27 Jan 2015.
On 18 June 2009: Tony and Laurie-Ann's 10th wedding anniversary.
On 13 September 2008: 50th anniversary of my joining Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.
On 24 March 2007: My mother, Joan Wood's, 90th Birthday party
On 15 February 2001: Tony celebrated his 60th birthday. You can still come to his birthday party!
On 17 July 2001: Laurie-Ann celebrated her 40th birthday. You can still come to her birthday party!

Let's not forget the companion animals!. Indy, our cat, had lived 14 years with Annmarie's daughter Lisa when she came to us in 2004. She died 7 August 2007. We lost Phantom on 17 Feb 2003, and Clancy on 4 Oct 2003, but they are all still with us in our hearts.

      The Copple Family Archive
In December 2003, Tony burned a CD of audio memories of 1965 - 1978 and gave copies to family members at Christmas. For Christmas of 2004 he sent out "Second Decade" with memories of musical productions that James had performed in at Beeston and Gresham's schools.
