Sherwood Hotel
Nottingham
The good weather is continuing though it was rather cold again this morning. My nose & ears got another dose of sunburn this afternoon. I took it rather easy today, pedaling through the vale of Belvoir all morning, overlooked by Belvoir Castle. It was a beautiful castle, but since admission was 50 p I decided it wasn't worth going in & I rode on to Colston Basset for lunch. (If you think I'm choosing these towns by their names, you're right. And why not? They're all beautiful little villages.) Right now my problem seems to be that I've become addicted to chocolate bars, especially Mars Bars, to the detriment of my loose change. I'm eating like a horse but guess I'm riding like one as well.
I arrived in Nottingham by 3:30 but had a terrible time finding a place to stay. There seemed to be no bed & breakfast places, the guest houses were all full so eventually I checked into this lousy little hotel at 3.00 pounds for a broom closet of a room.
