Gypsy Myth
Gypsy GirlText Box: Gypsy Myth

Oh Gypsy Girl fable outside of all time
Greek slaves dream of freedom’s chime;
crossing turbulent water this wolf swims,
Scorpion Athena to his soft fur clings.

Oh Gypsy Girl I now dance for you,
let me show your door, to another world;
apple came with angry serpent’s tongue,
devil’s trick in simple hymns we sung.

Oh Gypsy-girl bite dice with your teeth
your total stone throw splits free a thief,
blank surfaces of ashen bone can write
when fireflies fill a lantern with delight.

Oh Gypsy Girl I have no more tears,
venom in blind eyes numbs all fears.
shift your shape into true Eros form;
or, sting my death, love forever borne.

Oh Gypsy Girl constellations stories tell,
starry words dance our firmament swell:
Howling embers spin, and we are gone;
A warrior woman, and a trickster’s song.
