How do doctors know if you're knocked out cold
This answer is from Larry, and no, he's not a doctor.
To say that someone is "knocked out cold" really means they were "knocked unconscious".
The way the doctor would find out if someone is unconscious is to look for the following symptoms:
% % SYMBOL 183 \f "Symbol" \s 10 \hperson is not moving,
% % SYMBOL 183 \f "Symbol" \s 10 \hno response to questions
% % SYMBOL 183 \f "Symbol" \s 10 \hno response to physical pain
% % SYMBOL 183 \f "Symbol" \s 10 \hslow breathing and rapid heart beat
% % SYMBOL 183 \f "Symbol" \s 10 \hsometimes the skin is cold and damp
A doctor will sometimes give the patient a small pinch to see if the person is not feeling pain.
