You must have seen some pictures of the Earth from space. In fact, the Earth looks more white than any other colour because of clouds, but if we ignore the clouds, you're right. Richard F. gave us this answer.
Well, over two-thirds of the Earth's surface is water (oceans). Of the rest, quite a bit is desert or mountains or ice. So there is a lot more blue (water) than green (covered with plants) when you look at Earth from Space. That's why Earth looks blue.
You school library has some good books about the planets. Take a look at My picture book of the planets, by Nancy E. Krulik, 523.4 kru.
Also, you can imagine you're in space looking at the Earth by looking at the globe hanging from the ceiling in the library.
