Well, my answer may not be exactly what you had in mind, however, in the January 1995 issue of National Geographic Magazine, there was an article about a newly discovered kind of animal. This animal was the first one of its species ever found. It's called a sao la and looks a bit like a small deer. This kind of animal had never been seen alive before. Scientists had found skeletons but thought that they may have been extinct.
